Top 10 Jockey For Position

Adam 'csimmsux' GeyerThere was plenty of jockeying for position on this week’s Online Player of the Year leader-board race. While only one new player was added to the top 10, the other nine spent the week one-uping each other in an effort to climb the ranks.

Chris "Moorman1" Moorman nearly jumped from third last week to the No. 1 spot after he won the Absolute Poker $150,000 guarantee for $39,750. Moorman, playing as INYOUREYE111, picked up 480 points for the win and temporarily took hold of the leader board.

That was until Steve "gboro780" Gross came back with a win of his own in the Full Tilt Poker $100,000 guarantee with rebuys. Gross picked up $38,038 and 240 points to put himself back on top.

As those two battled it out, Adam "Roothlus" Levy had a quiet week, dropping one spot to third in the rankings.

The biggest climber of the week was Mohsin "chicagocards1" Charania, who moved up two spots from sixth to fourth. Charania took third in the aforementioned $150,000 guarantee and second in the aforementioned $100,000 gurantee with rebuys. Despite earning 520 points and making up ground on the rest of the top 10, Charania managed to lose both of those tournaments to the current top two place-holders in the rankings.

Adam "csimmsux" Geyer (pictured above left) doesn’t play nearly the volume that the others on this list put in week after week, but  a win in the PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand helped keep him in the fifth spot for the second week in a row. Geyer won $28,388 and added 360 points to his total.

Moving up one spot to sixth in the rankings is Dan "Wretchy" Martin, who once again took down the daily $100 with rebuys on PokerStars. The victory brought his 2009 OPOY earnings to  $223,937.

Jonathan "xxjondxx" Delong moved up two spots by making two final tables during the week, taking fifth place in the Sunday $100,000 guarantee and seventh in the Nightly Hundred Grand.

Scott "stpauli111" Hall had the biggest drop in the rankings this week, moving four spots down to eighth place.

David 'WhooooKidd' BakerThe lone newcomer to the top 10 this week was David "WhooooKidd" Baker (pictured right). Baker, who also plays as Bussa Buss, hasn’t yet earned a marquee victory this year, but has amassed $202,272 in OPOY earnings with consistency unlike any other. Baker has seven final tables, including a runner-up peformance in the Super Tuesday early in the year. This week, Baker finished second in the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $66,716 and then took third in the Sunday $100,000 gurantee.

Rounding out the top 10 is Aditya "Intervention" Agarwal, who failed to pick up any OPOY points. xx BabyGrand xx fell from the top 10 and currently sits in 11th place.
