David Benyamine Runner Up In WPT Bellagio Cup IV

France's Recent Bracelet Winner Continues Great Run with $840,295 Second Place in WPT Event


France’s David Benyamine continued his fine run of form, which saw him make three final tables and lift a bracelet at the recent World Series of Poker, by making second place in the World Poker Tour Bellagio Cup IV.Mike Watson

Benyamine, who started the day second in chips, was pipped at the post by Mike Watson despite getting heads up with the chip lead of 11,695,000 to Watson’s 8,410,00.

In the crucial hand before he was dispatched, Benyamine moved all in preflop for 8.6 million with QQ and was called by Watson who held AK and hit an ace on the river to knock his opponent down to 2,665,000 in chips.

The final hand saw Watson move all in with Q9 and Benyamine called with K9 to find himself ahead in the for the secon time in a race. However Watson hit a queen on the flop and both paired their 9 on the turn and Watson walked away the lucky champion with $1,673,770.

The final was played out just as the WPT announced it had signed a TV broadcast deal with Fox Sports Network to show 26 episodes of season VII of the Tour. Bellagio Cup IV will be the first event of the season to be shown on the network.
