Mark Weitzman Bio

Mark Weitzman, of Los Angeles, California, has been a poker professional for more than 20 years and started cashing in major tournaments in 1992. Primarily a cash game player, Weitzman had stayed away from the tournament circuit but made the yearly journey to the World Series of Poker. He has cashed eleven times in WSOP events, including the 2007 main event, and has six World Series of Poker final tables under his belt (four of them in variations of deuce-to-seven lowball).

Weitzman finished fourth at the 2007 WPT Borgata Poker Open, earning $380,000 for the biggest and first non-WSOPcash of his career. His second final table came at the 2007 World Poker Finals. He finished sixth for almost $190,000.

Born in Israel and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Weitzman currently lives in Las Vegas. After two decades as a professional poker player, Weitzman would like to return to school for a Ph.D. in physics.
