Katja Thater Bio

Katja Thater, also known as "Lady Horror," hails from Germany and is the most well-known female player in her country of origin. Prior to becoming a professional poker player, she worked for an event and marketing company. She also competed in dressage tournaments at horse shows, and she is still a professional horse breeder. Thater became intrigued by the game of poker when she sat in for her husband in a high stakes cash-game while he went to use the bathroom. She won the first pot she entered and has not looked back since.

Recently, she had her biggest poker accomplishment thus far by clinching a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2007 in a $1,500 buy-in razz event. Thater is a member of Team PokerStars.
