Jared Bleznick suffered an insanely painful exit on Day 1D of the World Series of Poker main event after running his pocket aces into quads in a six-bet pot.
The old school online poker and live pro tangled with Frenchman Romain Locquet. The duo got into a leveling war preflop, with Bleznick holding the pocket rockets against Locquet’s pocket nines.
Locquet floped top set, turned quads and gave Bleznick one of the more painful main event exits of his life. In the process, Locquet took down a ridiculous 535-big blind pot.
Locquet finished Day 1D with 296,00 chips, good for fifth in the chip counts and 370 big blinds for Day 2D.
WSOP Bad Beat Of The Year?
Playing nine-handed with the blinds at 300-500 with a 500 big blind ante, Romain Locquet opened to 1,100 from early position with 9♦9♠. Shawn Cunix three-bet to 2,600 from early position with 7♦6♦. Jared Bleznick, from the big blind, four-bet to 5,200 with A♥A♦.
Locquet five-bet to 16,600 and, after Cunix folded, Bleznick six-bet to 38,000. Locquet called.
The flop was 3♣4♥9♠. Bleznick bet 30,000 and Locquet called.
The turn was the 9♥. Bleznick went all in for 63,900 and Locquet called.
The river was irrelevant and not picked up on stream. Locquet won 267,200 with four of a kind, nines and Bleznick was eliminated from the Main Event.
Holy moly! Jared Bleznick and Romain Locquet play a 535 BB STUNNER in the @WSOP Main Event.
