Reigning back-to-back World Series of Poker ladies event champion Shiina Okamoto just keeps on winning. The Japanese architect and poker player’s latest triumph saw her top a field of 126 entries in the €550 ladies event at the European Poker Tour Barcelona festival.
This was her second ladies event win and third overall title of the year, having also won a high roller at the Taiwan Millions series in late July.
Okamoto’s breakout on the live scene came at the 2023 WSOP, when she finished second in the ladies championship for $118,768. She somehow managed to outdo that performance just a year later, emerging victorious in the same tournament the following year for her first bracelet and $171,732. Her incredible streak continued this summer with an unbelievable title defense despite a new record turnout of 1,368 entries, earning another $184,094 along with her second piece of hardware from the series.
Less than a month after that historic victory, Okamoto battled her way to her first open-field title in the aforementioned event in Taiwan. She didn’t have to wait long to find herself in the winner’s circle again, as this latest title run came roughly five weeks later.
Okamoto took home €15,510 ($18,147 USD) as the last player standing in the ladies event at Casino Barcelona. The score helped push her career earnings to more than $905,000.
Exciting Week For Okamoto
This win was not the only big news for Okamoto this week. She also was revealed as a new ambassador for poker solver and training software company GTOWizard just a few days before closing out this most recent victory.

Okamoto sported a GTOWizard patch in her winner’s photo from Spain. In a social media post sharing that image, she said, “My very first spade trophy! I’m beyond happy to win, especially at EPT — one of my absolute favorite events!”
The top 17 finishers made the money in this ladies event, with $73,710 in total prizes awarded across those places. Okamoto ultimately triumphed over Marina Mendy after falling behind during the heads-up battle for the title. Mendy, of France, earned $11,349 as the runner-up.
