A busy week at the 2025 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona rolled on with two more high roller winners crowned, both of whom hail from Norway. Kayhan Mokri, fresh off a high-profile €2 million heads-up win, added another $609,453 in a €50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em event.
Espen Myrmo claimed the most significant live title of his career to date as well, taking down a €25,000 pot-limit Omaha event.
The pair of high rollers had one other notable factor in common in Jason Koon, who made both final tables.
Kayhan Mokri Keeps On Cooking

Kayhan Mokri
Just over a week ago, Mokri was in North Cyprus playing one of the highest-stakes televised heads-up matches in poker history. Mokri defeated Ossi Ketola and claimed the €2 million prize, setting off a chain reaction that subsequently led to an even bigger match between Ketola and Dan ‘jungleman’ Cates, in which $14 million changed hands.
Mokri wasn’t done collecting paydays in August, and his trip to Casino Barcelona brought even more success. He won a €50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em title, taking home $609,453 for his victory. It’s the third consecutive year in which Mokri has won a high roller trophy in Barcelona. In each of the previous two years, Mokri took down the €100,000 high roller during the EPT Barcelona festival.
A total of 35 entrants put up the sizable buy-in, generating a prize pool worth just shy of $2 million. For his victory, Mokri also collected 408 points in the Card Player Player of the Year race, presented by CoinPoker.
Hungary’s Andras Nemeth finished second, taking home $522,815 after a heads-up deal. Niklas Astedt, the Swedish online poker superstar who made a big splash in the 2024 World Series of Poker main event, notched his second final table appearance of the festival, finishing fourth.
Jason Koon performed well on “home turf”, as the sponsored PokerStars pro finished in sixth place for $138,996. One of the winningest tournament poker pros of all time, Koon is closing in on $67 million in total recorded earnings. By nature of this result, his second final table of the festival (more on that in a moment), Koon sits in 24th place in the POY standings.

Espen Myrmo Takes Center Stage

Espen Myrmo
In another win for a Norwegian, Myrmo claimed a signature victory in a €25,000 pot-limit Omaha event earlier in the week. It’s the first notable recorded tournament win of any kind for Myrmo, a PLO specialist who has taken to the high roller scene in recent years.
Myrmo beat a field of 52 entries, winning $474,926 in the process. It was a particularly impressive win for Myrmo, as he defeated Koon heads-up to seal the victory. Koon settled for second and $314,028. He now has eight final-table finishes and three titles in 2025, with 4,069 POY points and nearly $7.4 million in POY earnings accrued across those results.
This win stands as the second-largest live result of Myrmo’s career. In November 2024, he finished third in a $100,000 PLO event at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo. Overall, Myrmo now has over $2.4 million in career earnings.
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner and recent National Heads Up Poker Championship participant Keith Lehr finished third. Biao Ding of China (6th) and WSOP bracelet winner Christopher Frank (7th) also finished in the money.
