Lodden becomes the first Norwegian player to join a team roster that includes Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Rousso, Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, and Greg Raymer. His addition brings the total number of team members to 31.
Lodden began playing poker in his hometown of Jorpeland, Norway, with his school friends. After doing well at the online tables, Lodden graduated to the highest-stakes cash games at the time, and at one point held the record for the largest pot ever played online.
As far as live tournament play goes, Lodden won the 2004 St. Maarten Open and then began his run in Europe, playing nearly every event he could. He has made the final two tables six times on the EPT, including an eighth-place finish in the 2008 EPT Hungarian Open. In October, Lodden just missed out on the World Series of Poker Europe main-event final table, finishing in 11th place for $96,581.
He will be playing on the site under the name ‘johnnylodden’.
