Punnat Punsri is so far ahead on Thailand’s all-time money list that the other 99 players that comprise the top 100 are still several million dollars short of his career earnings with their collective hauls combined, which clock in at $17.3 million. Punsri has cashed for more than $23.6 million dollars on the tournament circuit, with his latest score being one of his largest.
On Sunday, Mar. 9 Punsri defeated a field of 93 entries in the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju $125,000 no-limit hold’em event, earning $2,594,555 as the champion. This was the third career Triton victory for Punsri, who has accrued more than $19.9 million of his lifetime haul in Triton tournaments.
This was the second final-table finish of the year for Punsri, who placed eighth in a high roller event at the Asian Poker Tour Manila Classic last month. This win in Korea came with 1,080 Card Player Player of the Year points, enough to move Punsri within reach of the top 60 in the 2025 POY standings presented by Global Poker.
The prize pool for this event swelled to $11,625,000, with the top 15 finishers making the money. Plenty of tournament legends ran deep, including five-time Triton winner Phil Ivey (15th), four-time Triton champion Fedor Holz (14th), and five-time Triton victor Danny Tang (13th). There were also several two-time champions on the tour that ran cashed, including Daniel Dvoress (11th), Michael Soyza (10th), and Dan Smith (8th).
Smith was one of two severe short stacks to make the unofficial final table of eight. The other was Kiat Lee, who followed Smith to the rail when his A-8 was unable to best the K-J of recent $150,000 buy-in event winner Joao Vieira. Lee earned %40,000 as the seventh-place finisher.
Two-time Triton winner Ben Tollerene lost two big all-ins, both times with A-K. The second time around was against the pocket jacks of Vieira, who had him covered. That sent the American packing in sixth place ($686,000).
The next big clash pitted Vieira’s A-Q against the pocket jacks of Punsri, with the pair holding to send the Portuguese pro to the payout desk in fifth place. Vieira earned $878,000 for his efforts, bringing his haul for the festival to more than $5.5 million.
A three-way all-in narrowed the field from four to two in a flash. Two-time Triton winner Chris Brewer was at risk with J10
trailing the Q
J
of Mikita Badziakouski., a five-time Triton champion. Christoph Vogelsang had both of his opponents covered and held the best hand with A
Q
. The German made a pair of aces on the turn and held from there to score the double knockout, with Brewer earning $1,093,000 as the fourth-place finisher while Badziakouski secured $1,348,000 for his podium showing.
Punsri and Vogelsang hashed out a deal to redistribute the remaining prize money a bit, locking up $2,504,555 and $2,456,445, respectively while leaving the title and $90,000 to play for. Punsri held roughly a 5:4 chip advantage at the time.
The decisive hand of the match saw Punsri make two pair on the river while Vogelsang wound up with a busted flush draw. Vogelsang went for a big bluff, but it was picked off to see him left on fumes. The very next hand, he was all-in for less than a big blind and was eliminated as the runner-up. Vogelsang now has nearly $40.5 million in career cashes to his name after this latest multi-million-dollar score, the fifth of his career.
