The 2025 Card Player Poker Tour Venetian $1,000,000 guaranteed $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event drew a total of 588 entries, resulting in plenty of added value. The seven-figure prize pool is being paid out among the 75 players who moved on to day 2, with all remaining contenders having locked up at least $4,088 for their efforts.
The final nine will all cash for at least $17,310, with the eventual champion set to earn $167,076.
Day 2 action begins at 11:00 AM and will continue until the field is narrowed to just seven players. Those that move on to day 3 will reconvene on Sunday at noon for the live streamed final table, which is to be featured on Venetian Poker Live. The broadcast from the venue’s brand new Poker Studio will be produced and distributed by PokerGO.
This tournament featured three starting flights, with 122 entries made on Day 1A and another 174 on day 1B. The final flight was held on Valentine’s Day. There were 292 entries added to the total by the time registration closed, bringing the final turnout to 588.
Play continued until the day 1C field was narrowed to 37 entries, who joined the 38 from the previous two flights to bring the total remaining contenders to 75. Day 2 will begin with 29:04 remaining in Level 16, which was the earliest stop time from the three flights. Action will resume with blinds of 3,000-6,000 and a big blind ante of 6,000.
The overall chip leader came from the final flight. 2024 CPPT Venetian champion David Coleman was the only player to finish with more than a million in chips, bagging 1,066,000. Coleman (pictured at top) put together a career-best performance in the 2024 Card Player Player of the Year race, making 24 final tables with five POY-qualified titles won along the way. He finished in second place in the final POY standings, and is well positioned to kick off his 2025 campaign with another strong showing at Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
Day 1B chip leader Daniel Marcus will enter day 2 in second chip position with 779,000, while Cody Wiegmann (727,000), Courtney Farnes (639,000), and Tiffany Wong (528,000) round out the top five.
Plenty of big names bagged healthy stacks, including Michael Rossitto (440,000), Darren Rabinowitz (420,000), two-time bracelet winner Evan Sandberg (419,000), World Poker Tour champion James Romero (303,000), bracelet winner Mitchell Halverson (293,000), and bracelet winner and WPT champion Ryan Tosoc (268,000).
