Global Poker finished up its popular online tournament series, The GOAT, this weekend with their two Tournament of Champions events and a pair of supersized Sunday majors.
First up was the SC 110 buy-in Sunday Teaser, which drew a field of 288 entrants and an overall prize pool of SC 28,800. Nevada poker player ‘HumblePie85’ scored the win, and the top prize of SC 5,558.
Next was the SC 218 buy-in Sunday Scrimmage, which had 286 players build a SC 57,200 prize pool. This time the title and the SC 11,039 payout went to California player ‘Tdubz224.’
The three-week online series featured 204 unique trophy events, and winners were invited back to compete in the Tournament of Champions, both for Sweeps Coins and Gold Coin players.
Texas’ ‘AstrosWS17hghg’ took down the Gold Coin event, earning GC 5,000,000 in the process, and New York’s ’Rep_Lenish_ came away with the win in the Sweeps Coin event, banking a $5,000 live event package.

Global Poker will now turn their attention to hosting the upcoming U.S. Poker Open, which is making its debut on the virtual felt. Eligible players from all over the United States can participate in this inaugural and groundbreaking series.

The series officially kicks off Aug. 23 and features 16 events for both Gold Coin and Sweeps Coins play.
The two-week contest wraps up Sept. 5 with two main events. The Gold Coin main event boasts a GC 125 million guarantee, while the Sweeps Coin main event finishes up with a SC 250,000 guaranteed. All told, the site will guarantee at least GC 500 million and SC 1 million in prizes during the series.
