Scheinberg outlasted a small field of 15 players to take £13,850 ($22,253). It’s chump change to him.
Just this summer, PokerStars was sold to Amaya Gaming Group for $4.9 billion. The sale marked the end of Scheinberg’s era with the company. The move was seen as giving PokerStars a better chance at re-entry into the American market after it left suddenly in April of 2011.
Scheinberg still faces charges in the U.S. stemming from the Black Friday indictments.
