Connecticut’s Foxwoods Casino has officially earned a Guinness World Record as part of the property’s high-stakes “Firecracker Bingo” celebration on July 4.

The property earned the distinction for the largest payout for a game of bingo (single bingo house), awarding a $440,000 jackpot. Aaron P. had the right numbers to score the six-figure payout and break the world record in the process.

More than 3,000 players showed up in the property’s High Stakes Bingo Hall with a chance at more than $1 million in prize money up for grabs. The event was not only part of the America 250 festivities, the casino also celebrated 40 years of bingo at Foxwoods.

Longtime Home For Bug Bucks Bingo

The previous record for largest payout for a game of bingo by a single bingo house was set in 2025 by Buzz Bingo in London. One lucky player took home £105,000 ($136,000), according to Guinness.

The Foxwoods event added to a legacy of high-stakes bingo at the resort. Before becoming a full-scale casino, the property began as a high-stakes bingo hall in 1986, owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

“The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation saw an opportunity to build something meaningful for future generations, and bingo became the catalyst for that vision,” tribal Chairman Rodney A. Butler recently told the Hartford Courant.

“The impact extends far beyond the game itself. This anniversary is an opportunity to honor the determination, leadership, and community that helped shape the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s success story and create lasting opportunities for our people.”

The world record comes after the property also unveiled a new poker room in September.

Other Guinness Gambling-Related Records

In other gambling-related Guinness record news, Zach Gensler broke the record for the longest poker session in history in 2021. The previous record was set in 2010 by poker pro Phil Laak.

In 2024, a Missouri man set the record for the largest casino chip collection with a stash of more than 2,250. A year earlier, an Italian man set the poker chip-balancing record with 255 on one finger for several seconds.
