A Florida bettor hit a grand slam with a winning wager on a six-leg home run parlay last Friday that paid off to the tune of almost $2 million.
The bettor made the wager online at Hard Rock Bet for $30.11.
To win, the handicapper would need home runs from Jazz Chisholm (New York Yankees), Nick Kurtz (Oakland A’s), Riley Greene (Detroit Tigers), Coby Mayo (Baltimore Orioles), Jesús Sánchez (Toronto Blue Jays), and Bryce Harper (Philadelphia Phillies).
Home Run-palooza
The big batting bet came with total odds of +6,576,031. When the action on the diamond commenced for the day, the Tigers battled the Reds and Greene went 2 for 5 at the plate with a homer. Mayo also went 2 for 5 and belted a pitch out of the park against the Red Sox.
In the Blue Jays-Guardians matchup, Sánchez had just a single hit, but it was also a dinger. The Phillies saw Harper go 1 for 5, collecting a four-bagger and an RBI against the Braves.
Kurtz also hit a home run against the Rangers and Chisholm went 3 for 4, including a homer and 3 RBIs.
The lucky prognosticator ultimately collected a total of $1,980,043.01. Here are the odds for each individual leg:
- Riley Greene: +475
- Coby Mayo: +800
- Jesús Sánchez: +700
- Bryce Harper: +475
- Nick Kurtz: +325
- Jazz Chisholm Jr.: +550
In December, another Florida bettor cashed in on a 20-leg college basketball parlay, betting a single dollar for a $340,000 payday.
Parlay wagering remains one of the most popular forms of wagering on sports. A 2025 report detailed the popularity of these bets, with 27% of cash wagered in Illinois, New Jersey, and Colorado in 2024 through October coming from parlays. That was an increase of 5% since 2021. However, these wagers accounted for 56% of revenue after payouts, up 6% since 2021.
