Bally’s Corp. released artist renderings for the company’s new Chicago casino this week, which includes a new poker room for Windy City players.
The property is located at the former Chicago Tribune Freedom Center in the River West section of the city. Renderings depict a casino and hotel tower set among lush, green outdoor walking areas along a waterfront plaza.
Along with the casino and other amenities, the property will also be home to a new poker room located in a mezzanine above the casino floor near exhibition and meeting space. Drawings depict a spacious, well-lit venue with white and gray accents and blue diamond-patterned carpet.
A rendering of the poker room highlights eight tables, but the exact size of the venue hasn’t been released yet.
Plans Include Massive Gaming Floor, Park, 36-Story Hotel
The casino features eight stories, with upper floors used for parking. The hotel tower stands at 36 stories with 500 rooms. The project also includes several dining options and a public park.
The main gaming floor will house 3,400 slot machines, 175 table games, and an expansive central bar. Windows overlooking the river will add to the ambiance for gamblers.
An event center is located at the south end of the project near the hotel lobby and can hold 3,000 people with a small cafe also on site. The project will feature a mix of stone flooring and custom carpets, white path-defining ceiling elements surrounded with wood slats, custom chandeliers, and gold-accented room dividers, according to Chicago Yimby.
The hotel’s sixth floor will feature a spa and fitness center. A private club will be found on the hotel’s 35th floor with a rooftop restaurant and terrace on the 36th. Plans call for the $1.7 billion project to be completed in 2026. But the opening could come in phases, according to reports.
The project appears to be making progress after an investigation into a waste-hauling services company’s alleged links to organized crime delayed construction in May. Along with the Chicago casino, Bally’s was also recently awarded one of three downstate casino licenses in New York.
