Nevada Enjoys Nice Bump In October Casino Gaming Revenue

Despite Less Visitors, Casinos Rebound With Solid Month

Nevada gaming revenue numbers bounced back in October with a jump of almost 5% to $1.35 billion, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB). That number is up from $1.29 billion for the same month in 2024.

For the first part of the fiscal year (July 1 through Oct. 31), gaming revenue has increased 2.95%.

Rising numbers in Las Vegas were a big part of the higher revenue, including a big jump on the Las Vegas Strip.

Inside The Numbers

The Strip saw numbers rise 8.2% to $748.9 million. A big part of that was a 69.4% increase in baccarat revenue, which accounted for $116.4 million in revenue. The game attracts high-roller bettors, and the results of those wagering sessions regularly tip the scales on whether the area finishes in the red or the black for the month.

The baccarat win led to a solid month for table games, which rose 25.4% to $330.6 million. The Strip saw increases even though slot revenue fell 2.4% to $418.3 million.

The growing numbers came despite a dip in visitor volume, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. The number of visitors to the area dropped 4.4% to 3.4 million. Convention attendance fell 7.9% to 559,200.

Other parts of Clark County were a bit of a mixed bag. Downtown Las Vegas revenue fell 0.2% to $86.6 million. Laughlin dropped 5.2% to $42 million, and the Boulder Strip fell 8.9% to $78.6 million. North Las Vegas saw revenue grow 8.4% to $24.4 million, and Mesquite enjoyed a 5.6% increase to $17.2 million.

Revenue was also up and down across the state. Reno was up slightly by 0.3% to $68.4 million. Sparks saw revenue surge 16.5% to $16.8 million. However, North Lake Tahoe dropped 4.2% to $1.8 million, and South Lake Tahoe fell 2.2% to $20.4 million. Elko County was a bright spot, seeing gaming revenue rise 5.4% to $33.5 million.
