Season II of the Card Player Poker Tour is underway with one stop complete and a second stop coming up. Take a look at the weekly happenings and the latest news about the CPPT:

Palm Beach Kennel Club will host Player of the Series

Palm Beach Kennel ClubThe Palm Beach Kennel Club will offer players additional incentives to play in the nine-tournament series in December when the card room hosts the Card Player Poker Tour.

A Player of the Series leaderboard will run during the CPPT Dec. 5-16. The top ten players will split $26,000 upon the completion of the series with $10,000 going to the first place finisher.

Points will be awarded based on an algorithm that factors in buy-in and field size for all players who play in any of the nine CPPT tournaments and satellites. All players will receive points for playing in any event and players who finish in the top 10 percent of the field will receive additional points based on final position.

Foxwoods Schedule Released

The schedule for CPPT Foxwoods, set to take place Feb. 8-17, has been released and will features a $1,650 no-limit hold’em main event.

Juan De Jesus, Poker Tournament Director, said several of the tournaments will offer guaranteed prize pools, however those numbers have not yet been released but will be available shortly.

Tour Will Return to bestbet Jacksonville

bestbet Jacksonvillebestbet Jacksonville will host a second stop during Season II of the CPPT in May of 2014. Season II began at bestbet in August 2013 with a 14-tournamnet series that concluded with Harvey Vandeven winning the $1,500 no-limit hold’em $300,00 guarantee main event. Exact dates and a complete schedule of events will be released at a later date.

Season III Schedule Shaping Up
Currently one stop has been determined for Season III. The Bicycle Casino will host a 30-tournament series in October of 2014 with a $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event.

Great... Two poker tournament series with about 30 events and not one PLO tourney. 2 HORSE, 1 Omaha Hi/Low, and 27 Hold em!? Why do people consider themselves 'poker players' when all they really are is hold em players?
