888 is set to launch a real money gaming product on Facebook in the UK. The ‘freemium’ Bingo Island product the company already has at the site will be upgraded to real money site. This will be followed by casino, slots and eventually poker.
Chief executive of 888 Itai Frieberger, said, “888 has long recognised the potential for social gaming. Our Facebook freemium (play for fun) offerings have found a significant audience and we are very excited by the opportunity that real money gaming on Facebook provides.”
Head of games partnerships for Facebook in Europe, Julien Codorniou, added, “Facebook is a great platform for playing games with your friends and we are really pleased to be working with 888, who have a strong reputation on both the quality and safety of their games.”
Gamesys was the first operator to offer a real money gaming app on Facebook in August.
888’s share price was up 3.63 percent to 112.75 pence at the time of writing.
