Ben Jones Wins Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Bolton

Online Poker Pro Wins GUKPT Bolton Main Event

Ben Jones is the champion of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Bolton main event. The online player took down the leg 8 title, £17,390, and a seat in the GUKPT Champion of Champions £100,000 tournament.

The £500 six-max event drew a field of 114, creating a prize pool of £57,000.

Jones reached the heads-up stage of the event with a 10:1 chip lead versus Dave Wearing. Fifteen minutes later the two played their final hand , Q-J against A-J, and Wearing walked away with £12,260 for his second-place finish. He also won the GUKPT Shoal Survivor prize of £500 in GUKPT vouchers for outlasting all other live qualifiers.

More than 1,000 players took part in nine events from Jul. 16-22 at the G Casino in Bolton.

The tour explodes in the next leg in Coventry with the record-attempting Goliath tournament set to take place from Aug. 22-27. The £1,000 GUKPT main event runs alongside it, from Aug. 25-27.
