The Lodge Card Club To Reopen On May 26

Operations Resume After Grand Jury Declined Indictment

The Lodge Card Club announced it will reopen May 26 at 9 a.m.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission raided and shut down the poker club in Round Rock, Texas, in March. The authorities cited money laundering and illegal gambling concerns as the reason for the raid. Consequently, state authorities froze The Lodge’s assets.

Then, in April, a Williamson County Grand Jury didn’t find sufficient evidence to warrant a criminal indictment against the property’s owners. As a result, the club is now set to open its doors again.

“Welcome back home Lodge members,” the club posted on Twitter/X in announcing the news on Tuesday.

New Eatery Will Open May 16

The reopening comes on the same day that the World Series of Poker kicks off in Las Vegas. The property will host a $50 no-limit hold’em tournament at 10:15 a.m. on the first day as a way to welcome back players. Two other low-roller events are also on tap.

On the restaurant and amenities side of the operation, the Odds Bar & Bistro will be replaced with Frank & Margie’s. The new eatery offers Italian-American cuisine and will open May 16, ahead of poker returning to the club.

The “Poker at the Lodge” livestream, which boasts almost 240,000 YouTube subscribers, is also expected to return. Some other positives from the grand reopening include employees who were left without jobs returning and players who were left with chips at the time of the raid getting paid out.

In addition to the Round Rock location, the company also operates a Lodge card club in San Antonio. That property wasn’t raided and remained open.

As The Lodge was suffocated by legal issues, its main competitor was hosting a major tournament series. The Texas Card House in Austin hosted the first WSOP Circuit series in the Lone Star State in April.
