
Fresh off the completion of the Pot-Limit Omaha Cash Game World Championship, CoinPoker announced the upcoming launch of the 2025 High Stakes Cash Game World Championship.
The competition kicks off On Nov. 10 and runs through Dec. 7. Their flagship event gives no-limit hold’em players a chance to earn a piece of a $100,000 prize pool, bragging rights, and a Land-Dweller Rolex valued at $35,000.
CoinPoker expects some of the best high-stakes no-limit hold’em players to battle in rake-free cash games. Eligible tables will feature stakes $50-$100 stakes with 100-big blind buy-ins. Both ante and non-ante games count towards the competition, but heads-up action will not count.
Elite players Linus “LlinusLLove” Loeliger, Kayhan Mokri, Roberto “DavyJones922” Perez, and Bjorn “asianflushie” Li are playing. Online legends like “SeaLlama” and “riggedeck” are also expected to take part. Loeliger and Li already have experience battling at even higher stakes against one another.
Every Hand To Be Shown
The competition has a “Show Table” rule, where every winning hand is automatically shown, regardless of the street. Players must play at least one CGWC “show table” to play on other CGWC tables. Competitors must play at least 20,000 hands to be eligible for the top five prizes.
- First place – $35,000 Land-Dweller Rolex
- Second place – $17,500 cash
- Third place – $15,000 cash
- Fourth place – $12,500 cash
- Fifth place – $10,000 cash
Weekend VIP games run every Sunday hosted by a VIP with five other qualifying players. The VIP game runs the popular 7-2 side game, where anyone who wins the pot with 7-2 wins an additional five big blinds from every player at the table.
Players can qualify for the VIP game through the following ways:
- Biggest loser of the week
- Player who is the furthest below $EV
- Most hands played in a week
- Coolest hand played (based on weekly fan vote)
- The streamer – a raffle winner comprised of any player who streams the competition for two hours.
Just like the previous CGWC’s, CoinPoker tracks progress through a daily leaderboard. Players earn points on the leaderboard through their expected win, not their actual winnings.
CoinPoker has an additional $10,000 worth of prizes for players that come the closest to game theory optimal play. They will distribute the prizes based on GTO strategy’s advanced player-vs-solver performance analysis. All participants who log at least 10,000 hands in the competition will automatically qualify for prize consideration.
Can Owen “PrOdigy” Messere Defend His Title?
CoinPoker hosted the inaugural Cash Game World Championship last December. Owen “PrOdigy” Messere won the event after netting a whopping $590,000 on the felt. He also earned a $50,000 Rolex Daytona Ghost for his efforts.
Messere edged out “riggedeck” in the final week after they agreed to play at least 1,000 hands when they were neck-and-neck in the standings. Loeliger finished in third and Li took fourth.
