Prediction markets have been at the center of the gambling world recently as certain jurisdictions argue whether platforms like Kalshi violate sports betting regulations.
It looks like poker is going to get in on the trend, too.
GGPoker announced the return of the “GGMillion$” Trifecta promotion on social media. It’s a fairly simple and straight forward contest. Reply in the comments with a guess of which players will finish in the top three spots.
The name of the contest comes from horse racing, where gamblers pick the exact spots of the top three finishers for a larger payout. It’s horse racing’s form of a parlay.
The online poker site brought the contest back for the $10,000 no-limit hold’em high roller event, one of the largest buy-ins on the schedule and with a final table broadcast on the GGPoker YouTube channel Tuesday night.
“If you nail it, you win a $150 WSOP Step 4 Express ticket – your fast track toward WSOP events,” the company wrote in the tweet. “All the stats, betting odds, and angles you need are compiled for you right here.”
In most situations, the contest would be seen as nothing more than what it is. A social media giveaway designed at generating engagement. But given their ambassador’s recent partnership, it could be signaling a larger shift.
Poker Prediction Markets On The Way?
Last month, seven-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu inked a deal with Kalshi. In fact, the post announcing his partnership with the prediction market is still the pinned tweet on his profile.
And he offered his own guess on the results shortly after GG announced the contest
I’m going with
1) EvemLucky cause 🇨🇦
2) Kiat Lee cause I know him
3) Nikita Kalinin because that name sounds like he would be a good NHL player.Make your predictions below! https://t.co/EgnLe8Gi55

Kalshi’s partnership with Negreanu marked its first foray into the poker world. The platform offers trading markets for nearly everything under the sun. They allow users to trade positions on sports, politics, pop culture, and even the weather.
But they don’t have poker-related markets. Yet.
In a recent FOX partnership, Kalshi gets to use the broadcast company’s data to settle the NFL-related markets. They will likely look for a similar relationship with GGpoker for the company to get into poker-related markets.
GGPoker’s parent company owns the rights to the WSOP brand. A working relationship with GGPoker would give them the ability to use WSOP data to settle poker-related markets.
A partnership with the company’s ambassador is a good start. And GG’s latest social media contest gives the impression they are ready to see poker prediction markets.
