
The numbers are in for the $1,000,000 guaranteed $600 no-limit hold’em Midwest Championship at The Reserve Poker Club.
A total of 2,270 entries were made across the 11 starting flights that ran from Sept. 18-27, surpassing the guarantee to build a final prize pool of $1,135,000. As a result, the eventual champion is set to earn $186,290.
From that massive sea of players, there are now just 209 contenders remaining with a shot at the title. Day 2 begins at noon local time on Sunday, Sept. 28.
There were 16 players to bag more than once, including two (Courtney Kennedy and Dominic Esparza) who bagged three times.
Hitesh Patel claimed the overall chip lead with 2,280,000. Heath McAllister (2,220,000) and bracelet winner Satoshi Tanaka (2,020,000) round out the top three.
Other big stacks include World Poker Tour champion and bracelet winner Soheb Porbandarwala (1,960,000), Abdul-Rahim Amer (1,845,000), Richard Viebranz (1,745,000), Imari Love (1,695,000), and Anthony Sheline (1,641,000).
The final table is slated for Monday, Sept. 29, and will be broadcast on Live At The Reserve on YouTube.
