Mariano Vs. Peter For $900K
A disastrous session for poker vlogger Mariano Grandoli was completely turned around by a fortunate river card over the weekend on Hustler Casino Live.
Mariano, who has 190,000 subscribers and nearly 50 million views on YouTube, is among the winningest players all-time on poker live streams. But the California pro was not having a good week.
It started with a $240,000 loss on Thursday night and continued into a dismal start to Friday’s game, where he was down as much as $300,000. Then a spot came up against fellow high-stakes livestream regular Peter Wang, who was also stuck and perhaps steaming a bit after a rough run of cards.
The Hand
With the blinds at $200-$400 with an $800 straddle, Mariano raised on the button to $2,000 with 10♣9♣. Peter called from the small bling with 6♦4♣, and ‘Jeff the Cash’ called from the straddle with A♥6♥.
The flop came down J♣7♥5♠, and Peter checked with his open-ended straight draw. Jeff also checked, and Mariano made a continuation bet of $2,000 with his gutshot straight draw. Peter then check-raised to $10,000, forcing a fold from Jeff.
Mariano called, and the turn was the 2♣. Peter then overbet the pot, firing in $30,000. Having picked up a flush draw to go with his gutshot, Mariano made the call, growing the pot to $86,800.
The river was the perfect action card in the 8♠, giving Peter his straight while giving Mariano the nuts.
Once again, Peter overbet the pot, double fisting $120,000 into the pot. With $411,000 behind, Mariano took about 30 seconds before announcing he was all in.
“I don’t see how Peter can fold,” announcer Charlie Wilmoth said.
Peter sprang out of his seat to take a closer look at the board, but given how his night had gone, he wasn’t about to let his hand go. After sticking in the chips, Peter was shown the bad news, and Mariano went from down big to a big winner on the night.

The Aftermath
The $909,400 pot was the largest of his career, topping the $788,000 pot he won in March of 2023 when two players ran pocket kings into his pocket aces.
Mariano would end up giving a little bit back, but still ended the night adding $133,200 to his net worth, recovering more than half of his losses from the previous session. With about $2.7 million in live stream winnings, he is still in the top 10 all-time, according to High Roll Poker.
Peter would end the night as the big loser, down a whopping $682,300. His sister Britney, who was also in the game, lost $119,800.
Peter is no stranger to playing massive pots, having been a part of the largest pot in High Stakes Poker history back in April. Although he was up $3.7 million overall at one point, he has been on a $3 million downswing for the last year.
Other notables scoring big wins on the night included Ethan ‘Rampage’ Yau, who pocketed nearly $300,000 in profit. Nikhil ‘Airball’ Arcot also won big, finishing the week up over $900,000 overall.
