Up until this past weekend, Stephen Chidwick had a quiet 2025 World Series of Poker campaign, posting only a $53,371 cash for a 21st-place finish in the $25,000 no-limit hold’em/pot-limit Omaha mixed event this summer.
However, the number two player on poker’s all-time money list put his talents on full display in the $50,000 pot-Limit Omaha high roller, earning a staggering $1.43 million for a runner-up finish in the 194-entry field.
Chidwick couldn’t top online poker legend Dylan Linde in heads-up play and fell just short of his third bracelet and $2.15 million.
The Deal, England, native found himself chip-leading for long stretches at the final table. With five players remaining, however, he was the beneficiary of a brutal cooler that sent Manuel Stojanovic home packing in disbelief.
