Colorado’s The Daily Sentinel has reported that British poker player Marcus Bebb-Jones has entered a not-guilty plea to the charge of first-degree murder of his wife, Sabrina in 1997.
Bebb-Jones’ public defender Matt Morriss entered the plea on his behalf and district Judge Dan Petre set a five-week trial to begin on Nov. 5.
Petre will allow for continued plea negotiations through Oct. 12. After this, a deal would only be acceptable under extraordinary circumstances.
The Englishman is being held in the Garfield County Jail. He was extradited last year.
