Updates on Final Day (Jun 22, 07)

Steven Buckner Doubles Up

Steven Buckner moves all-in from late position and is called by Stefan Mattsson in the big blind.  Steven shows A Q and is ahead of Stefan's K 9.  The baord comes out K A T 7 5 and Steven doubles up.

Oleg Makovenko Doubles Again

Oleg Makovenko doubles up once again.  This time he moved all-in pre flop with A J and was called by Florian Langmann out of the big blind who held A 5.  The flop gave Florian some hope when it came 4 7 9 giving him the nut flush draw.  But once again the short stack survived when the board bricked out.

Another Short Stack Survives

Action folded around to Oleg Makovenko in the small blind who moved all-in.  Andrew Kloc in the big blind made the call and showed K 9 and was way ahead of Oleg's Q 9.  The flop came down A J 9 but the Q on the turn gave another short stack hope for survival.  The river was a meaningless 5 and Oleg doubled up.

Joseph Pulliam Eliminated 9th Place ($3,515)

Jospeh Pulliam moved all-in pre flop with A 4 and was called by Florian Langmann who held K 7.  The baord came out T K 2 5 7 to give the pot to Florian and eliminate our first player of the evening.

Another Ira Double Up

Ira Mazie again moved all-in pre flop.  This time he was called by Steven Buckner who held A K.  Ira flipped up J J and had the lead going into the flop.  He hit a jack on the flop to all but guarantee another double up.  The turn and river bricked out and Ira is up to $70,000.

9 Lives For Ira

Ira Mazie has been all-in three times today and has hit the river to stay alive all three times.  In the most recent survival he moved all-in pre flop with J 9 and was called by Stefan Mattson who held A J.  The board came down K T 3 Q A to give both players braodway.

Break

Players are now on a 15 minute break.

Slow Going

Play has slowed down considerably since the first few hands.  We still have all nine players.

Buckner Doubles Up

Steven Buckner just doubled up when his A-A held up to defeat the T-T held by Andrew Kloc.  Steven buckner now has a $40,000 chip stack.

AA vs. KK

Andrew Kloc and Ira Mazie got all the chips in pre flop.  Andrew was a huge favorite when he flipped up his A A and Ira showed K K.  The board came down 8 5 2 9 T and Andrew doubles up to about $60,000.
