Updates on Final Day (Jun 18, 07)

Hyper-Agressive Final Table

There are only four players remaining, and we've only been playing for 45 minutes.  Despite the blinds being relatively low, the players are going for it all early, and as a result we've lost 5 players.  The action should slow considerably in the next hour, but these final table participants are trying to set a record.

Gerald Silber Eliminated 5th Place ($8,005)

On a board of Q 6 2 3, Gerald Silber pushes all in for his last $14,000.  Boris Muchnik thinks for awhile before calling with 8 9.  Gerald has been caught with his 10 3 and Boris can catch any Eight, Nine or Spade to take the pot.  The river is the 7 and Silber is our 5th place finisher.

Chip Counts

The chip count tab has been updated.  Chip leader Kush Patel has over half the chips in play.

Kyle Carlston Eliminated 6th Place ($6,550)

Kyle Carlston shoves all in from the small blind and is immediately called by chip leader Kush Patel in the big blind.  Carlston shows he was just stealing with J 7 and Patel woke up with 8 8.  The board came 10 6 4 Q 4 and Carlston is our 6th place finisher.

Paulo Loureiro Eliminated 7th Place ($5,095)

Paulo Loureiro is all in against Boris Muchnik.  Muchnik shows A K and Loureiro is dominated with A 9.  The board comes 3 2 2 J 5 and Loureiro takes home just over $5,000 for 7th place.

Blinds Up

The blinds have been raised to $800/$1,600 with a $200 ante.

Emeline Boich Doubles Up

With a board of Q 10 4 5, Paulo Loureiro bets out $10,000.  Emeline Boich instantly moves all in for only $2,400 more.  Loureiro obviously makes the reluctant call, showing A K and is reverse dominated by Boich's A Q.  The river is the 3 and Boich doubles through Loureiro.

Family Ties

The Boich family is doing well, with back to back final tables.  Yesterday, Wayne Boich final tabled Event #6.  Today, Emeline Boich, his wife, is also at the final table.  We'll see which Boich finishes higher.

Eugene Todd Eliminated 8th Place ($3,640)

Eugene Todd is all in with A K against Kush Patel's 6 6.  The board comes J 9 8 Q 4, and Eugene Todd is our 8th place finisher.  Kush Patel increases his chip lead, but Eugene isn't too upset with his finish.  For some reason, Todd decided to play in the Noon event at the Rio, and managed to build his stack up over $15,000.  So, he's out the door to the valet with friend Chris "The Armenian Express" Grigorian, so he can catch his stack before he is blinded off.

Paul Stanchewski Eliminated 9th Place ($2,910)

A short-stacked Paul Stanchewski pushes all in for his last $6,500.  Kyle Carlston pushes all in over the top for his last $10,900.  Kush Patel thinks for awhile before folding his small blind.  Stanchewski shows K 10 but is dominated by Carlston's K Q.  The board comes 6 4 3 J 7, and Paul Stanchewski is our ninth place finisher.  After the hand, Carlston is up to $19,000 in chips.
