Heads Up Action

Shannon Shorr vs Vanessa Selbst
This match has been the best so far today.  Selbest is a very aggressive player, known as an ultra-lag in the $10-$20 NL cash games she has been effectively employing the style so far in the match.  She has been check raising Shorr at some point  in almost  every hand.  It has clearly frustrated him, but he has hung tough so far.  He made a clutch double up when Selbest raised to $70,000 on the button and Shorr pushed for his last $270,000 with A5.  Selbest called with AQ, dominating Shorr.  He dominance was short lived when Shorr picked up 9 more outs on the 973 flop, and turn the nuts with the K.  He now has $600,000 and is battling back.

Daniel Schrieber Def. Alfredo "Toto" Leonidas
The first elite eight match to end, Toto Leonidas has fallen to Daniel Schrieber.  After handily beating Jeff Shulmun, Leonidas never really got off the ground against Schrieber.  He played from behind the entire match, and in the end lost with a pair and an open ended straight draw.  On a flop of J105, Leonidas checked and Schrieber bet out $40,000.  Leonidas called and the turn was the Q.  Leonidas again checked and Schrieber bet $150,000.  The sent Leonidas deep into the tank, he took several minutes and in that span he got up, walked around, drank water, and eventually called.  The river was the 6, Leonidas checked and Schrieber shoved a huge stack of $25,000 chips into the middle.  Leonidas made the call for his tournament live with J9, but was eliminated when Schrieber tabled AA.

Other Matches
Currently Steve Sarrafzadeh and Keith Black are equal in chips as are  Jared Davis vs. Mark Muchnik.
