Huge Laydown

Greg Mueller just folded pocket kings to a $660,000 raise from Steve Billirakis in the first large confrontation of their heads-up match. The pot was over $1 million at that point.

Tony George Eliminated in 3rd Place ($218,329)

Tony George was eliminated shortly after the dinner break. His pocket fives were not strong enough to hold off the Broadway straight of Greg Mueller. Mueller rivered the straight and the crowd erupted into cheers of "FBT!" when it hit the board.

Shuffle Up and Deal, Again

The players are back from dinner break and the cards are in the air.

Dinner Break

The players are on an hour and a half dinner break and they will return at 9:30 p.m. There are currently three players remaining.

Steve Paul-Ambrose Eliminated in 4th Place ($146,259)

The comeback trail of Steve Paul-Ambrose was short-lived, due to a cruel sense of humor from lady luck.  On a board of J107A Ambrose moved all in and Steve Billirakis called. Ambrose showed J8 and Billirakis turned over AA. The river card brought the only nine that could send Ambrose packing, the 9. Ambrose was eliminated in fourth place.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Steve Paul-Ambrose has been taking some hits as of late. He lost over $1 million on two consecutive hands, then found all of his remaining chips at risk against Greg Mueller. Mueller flipped over AQ after calling the $195,000 all-in bet and Ambrose showed pocket jacks. The board came 853710 and Ambrose doubled up on the hand. He will have his work cut out for him though, and we will keep you posted on his comeback efforts.

A Slow Cadillac

Strangely, once again during no-limit action someone put the imaginary brakes on the aggression of the tournament. During a current hand Fred Berger got a walk on his big blind and started chuckling. He then flipped over pocket rockets so the table could share his inside joke. Maybe things will speed up now that we are switching back to limit hold'em. Blinds will be $30,000-$60,000 with $60,000-$120,000 limits.

The Cadillac of Poker

The game has switched back to no-limit hold'em, with blinds at $15,000-$30,000. There are currently five players remaining.

Roger McDow Eliminated in 6th Place ($84,788)

Roger Mcdow moves all in for $70,000 and both Fred Berger and Greg Mueller call. The dealer stacks up the side pot and the flop is dealt AK8. Berger bets $40,000 and Mueller calls. The turn card is the Q and Berger checks. Mueller now bets $80,000 and and Berger calls. The river card is another lady, the Q. Berger turns over pocket fours and Mueller shows A-9 for top pair, which is good enough to win the entire pot. McDow mucks his hand and is eliminated in sixth place.
