Updates on Day 1 (Oct 22, 07)

Tight Play

Despite the large blinds, play has tightened as the remaining seven players have dug in their heels. No one is going anywhere without a fight.

Paul Wolfe Doubles

Ari Goldstein raises and Paul Wolfe reraises all in. Goldstein tanks, then makes the call with 66. Wolfe tables 99, and the board runs AK2108, and Wolfe doubles.

Blinds Raised

The blinds are now $2,000-$4,000 with a $400 ante.

Rodeen Talebi Eliminated

Talebi gets all in with AK against Michael Binger's K10. The board runs 1098J4, eliminating Talebi and Team Dallas.

Tom Dwan Eliminated

The hand after doubling Ari Goldstein, Dwan gets all in against Goldstein for a second time. Dwan finds himself dominated again, holding A9 against Goldstein's A10. The flop comes J93, and Dwan takes the lead. The turn brings the 3,  and Dwan holds the lead. On the river, Dwan screams, "Ten of clubs!" and the river obliges, brining the 10. Again some of the players are perplexed why Dwan would cheer for the card he doesn't want, whatever his reasons, he is sent to the rail in 9th place.

Ari Goldstein Doubles

Tom Dwan raises to $7,700 from early position, and Ari Goldstein moves all in for 17,300. Dwan makes the call with 85, and is dominated by Goldstein's 55. The board runs 9737K and Goldstein doubles.

Blind Raised

The blinds have been raised to $1,500-$3,000 with a $300 ante.

Play has restarted in the Southern Conference final table.
