Analysis
Cheong played an incredible tournament and seemed destined to make the final table, but a sickening beat at the hands of McClung spoiled his run. McClung was unphased by Cheong's decision to enter the pot with a four-bet, and sought to use tournament life pressure with an all-in to earn the muck. With a chip position of 55 big blinds, this would be a pretty adventurous and potentially unnecessary spot for Cheong to submit 20% of his stack in on a steal over two early position representations of strength. McClung's read was way off but his timing was perfect, the flop left him four-flushed with dramatically improved odds. Cheong's set on the turn was the work of a cruel dealer, as it delivered McClung a leading flush and left Cheong facing elimination with three Kings. Unable to find a board-pair on the river to make his full house, Cheong was eliminated in 31st for €16,000. McClung went on to finish in 14th for €27,000.
