Elky Toast
The player in seat 5 raised to 16,000 and Bertrand Grospellier was next to act. He called his remaining 10,000 into the middle and everyone else mucked. In a situation that could have seen both players holding marginal hands. Instead, we got the classic race situation as Grospellier tabled Q Q and seat 5 showed A K . The flop then came down A 5 7 and Grospellier was all but out the door. The 8 turn and 9 river sealed his fate and he was eliminated.

Big Hands:
Haxton Takes Monster Pot Off Toto
With the board showing K 8 6 3 and already over 60,000 in the pot, Isaac Haxton checked to Toto Leonidas who bet out 22,000. Haxton thought briefly before pushing a long tower of “1,000” chips into the middle to make the call, building the pot to well over 100,000.
The river was the 5 and Haxton checked again. Leonidas eyed Haxton’s stack for awhile and then decided to check as well. Haxton then turned over Q Q and Leonidas simply mucked his hand. Haxton took the huge pot and his stack improved to well over 200,000 in chips. Leonidas was down to 120,000.
Another Double Up For Rheem
The player on the button raised to 8,000 preflop. Action was next on Chino Rheem in the small blind and he immediately announced he was all in. The big blind folded and the button called. Rheem then turned over K J and was trailing his opponent’s A Q . That all changed on the flop as it came down K 8 7 , giving Rheem top pair. He wasn’t in the clear yet though as his opponent had the nut flush draw. The turn was the J giving Rheem two pair but giving his opponent a Broadway draw. The river was the 3 and Rheem survived another all in and was around 80,000.
Medic Takes One Off Jacob, Then Goes Bust
Alex Jacob raised to 7,200 preflop from the button and Nenad Medic made the call from the big blind. The flop came down A Q 2 and Medic checked. Jacob fired 11,000 and Medic made the call. The turn was the 7 and both players checked. The river was the 10 and Medic led out this time, betting 21,900. Jacob tanked for a long time and then announced a call. Medic turned over A 10 and Jacob quietly mucked. He was down to just 50,000 while Medic was around 110,000.
A few moments later, Medic lost the majority of his stack when he ran into the pocket kings of his opponent. On the next hand, Medic moved his short stack into the middle and was called by J.C. Alvarado. Medic showed A-J and Alvarado turned over K-Q. Unfortunately for Medic, the flop came down J-10-9, giving Alvarado the straight. Medic failed to improve on the following streets and the defending champion of this event was eliminated.

Average Chip Count: 198,889
Notable Eliminations:

Justin Smith
Big Hands:

Phil Ivey Doubles Up
On flop of 4 7 K , Phil Ivey checked to Chris Bjorin who bet 8,000. Ivey quickly called and the J hit the turn. Ivey checked again and Bjorin bet again. Ivey re-raised all-in for just 4,000 more and Bjorin made the call.
Their Hands:
Ivey: K J J 10
Bjorin: A 3 A 6
Ivey held a set of jacks with a flush draw, and was in great shape to scoop the pot. The Q hit the river and Ivey doubled to 112,000. Still short on chips, Ivey has a shot at back-to-back bracelets.

Justin Smith Eliminated
On a board of A 7 7 8 , Pat Pezzin bet from the button. Justin Smith in the small blind re-raised, and Phil Ivey threw in the third bet. Pezzin contemplated briefly before folding, and Smith called, leaving very little behind. The 3 hit the river and Smith checked. Ivey bet and Smith contemplated momentarily before calling all-in. Ivey turned over 8 8 2 3 for a full house and 2-3 for the nut low. Smith mucked and was eliminated. Ivey is now back up to 300,000.
Toto Leonidas All-in, Splits Pot
Toto Leonidas got all his chips into the middle on a board of J 5 8 . Scott Clements and Jacobo Fernandez called and all three players saw a K hit the turn. Clements bet 15,000 and Fernandez called. The A fell on the river and Clements and Fernandez both checked. Leonidas turned over the 2 3 4 6 to take the low, as Fernandez tabled aces and kings to take the high. Leonidas is at just 62,000.
Left In The Deck:
There is tension at table 77, where Ted Lawson and Daniel Negreanu have butted heads. Negreanu called the clock on Lawson while in the middle of a hand he wasn’t in.
The players are now on a short 20 minute break and will likely play until 3 a.m. instead of reaching the final 9 tonight.

The turn was the 7 and Lawson called a bet. The river was the 4 and Lawson called the last bet and said “I think we have the same hand, I have a straight.”
Lawson turned over the A 3 J 10 and his opponent turned over the A A J 10. Lawson’s A 3 was good enough for the low half of the pot and they split the high half.
Jamie Pickering Scoops One off Josh Arieh
We pick up the action five-handed on a flop of 8 7 6 . Josh Arieh leads out for 2000 from the blind and is called by Jamie Pickering. The turn is the 6 and Arieh bets 4000 and is again called by Pickering. Arieh fires the river, which was the 5 and Pickering calls one last time.
Pickering shows the A 8 5 3 , good for a rivered flush and the second nut low. Arieh mucks his hand.
Leonidas and Ivey Chop One Up
After a raise and three calls preflop, we pick up the action on a four-handed flop of J 9 8 .
Josh Arieh bet out 2000 and was raised by Toto Leonidas. Leonidas was then raised to 6000 by Phil Ivey. Arieh got out of the way and Leonidas made the call. The turn was the 6 and the river was the 3 and Leonidas checked and called 4000 on each street.

David Pham: X-X-J 8 8 K
Mike Matusow: X-X-Q A 6 9
Matusow fired another bet of 2,400 and Pham pounced, raising to 4,800. Matusow thought for a while before calling himself all in. “You got three eights David?” Matusow asked. Pham did not as he turned over K 9 for kings up, much to the delight of Matusow who showed A Q for aces up. Matusow needed to dodge the K , the last king left as someone folded the K at the start of the hand. Pham glanced at his card and announced that it had paint. Sure enough, he showed the case king and Matusow was in shock. “I just got one outed after playing for nine hours,” Matusow said as he turned over the 5 and he made his exit.
Omaha 8

Singer Drops One
On a board showing Q 8 2 J , David Singer fired 2,400 and the player in seat 6 made the call. The river brought the 8 and Singer fired another 2,400. His opponent made the call and Singer showed J 9 3 2 for Jacks up, but his opponent tabled K J 10 10 for the same hand but with a higher kicker. He raked in the pot and Singer was down to 58,000.
Triple Draw
Toto Picks Up A Pot
Toto Leonidas three bet the action to 3,600 before the second draw and Chau Giang made the call along with seat 6. On the second draw, each player drew one card and Leonidas bet 2,400. Both opponents made the call. On the third draw, Leonidas stood pat while his opponents each took one card. Everyone checked after the final draw and Leonidas tabled 8 5 4 3 2 for an eight-low. Giang and seat 6 mucked and Leonidas was around 16,000 while Giang was down to 30,000.

King High Good Enough, Madsen Takes One Off Sung
Prior to the first draw, Jeff Madsen three-bet to 3,600 and Steve Sung made the call. Both players drew two cards on the first draw and then they both checked. Sung then took one card on the second draw while Madsen elected to take two cards. Sung then fired 2,400 before Madsen even got his cards. Madsen called and then both players took one card on the final draw. They both checked and Madsen flashed the K expecting Sung to show something better. Sung then flashed the A and mucked his hand after Madsen revealed the rest of his hand, 8 7 4 3 . He took down the pot with king-high and he was at 22,000 while Sung was doing just fine with 63,000.

Big Hands:
Big-Stacked Crain Takes Huge Hit
Eric Crain was sitting comfortably toward the top of the leaderboard with 350,000 in chips when a raise-fest led to him putting in more than 100,000 to call Eric Bremond's all in. Crain's A K was in bad shape against Bremond's A A . The flop left Crain dead to running cards - coming out J J 9 . The 8 turn left Crain drawing dead and the J fell on the river to give Bremond a full house and the pot. After the double up, Bremond (220,000) was nearly even in chips with Crain (225,000).
Seidel Picks Up Jacks, Doubles
Erik Seidel moved all in before the flop and was called by his opponent in seat 6. Seidel turned over J J while his opponent showed A J . The board ran K K 3 K 7 , giving Seidel the pot to double up to around 80,000.
A Turn For The Worse
With the board showing J 7 A 5 , the player in seat 3 fired a medium sized bet into the pot. Brandon Adams came over the top for 30,000 total. Seat 3 announced he was all in and Adams instantly called. Seat 3 showed 5 5 for a set on the turn and thought he was ahead. It took him a while to see that Adams had flipped over 7 7 for a better set on the flop. The river was the 6 and seat 3 was eliminated. Adams collected the huge pot and saw his chip count soar to 340,000 - good enough to crack the top 10.
Rousso Loves Cowboys
The player in seat 3 raised 3,600 preflop from middle position. Action folded to Vanessa Rousso in the big blind, who made the call. The flop came K K 4 and both players checked. The 8 came on the turn and both players checked again. The passive play ended on the river as the A fell and Rousso fired 5,000. Seat 3 reached for his orange 5,000 chip and announced A-J just as he threw the chip into the middle. Rousso turned over K 6 for trip kings on the flop. She raked the pot and climbed to 73,000.
Steve Zolotow Doubles Again
The player in seat 6 raised preflop and Steve Zolotow moved all in for roughly 25,000 more. After a moment of thought, seat 6 made the call. Zolotow showed 10 10 and seat 6 showed A Q . The board came K J 3 K 5 and Zolotow doubled to 50,000.
On the turn, Zolotow told the dealer, "Pleaes, no trips," as he snagged the "lucky iPod" from Erik Seidel. After the hand he returned to Seidel and said that he might invest in one of those iPods.
Reslock Doubles
On a flop of 10 5 3 Chris Reslock got all in against one player. His opponent showed Q 10 for top pair but Reslock had A 10 for top pair with a better kicker. The turn and river were the 8 and the 3 adn Reslock doubled to over 50,000.

Seat 9 showed A K and Leonidas mucked, dropping to 74,000 in chips.
This Is How Corkins Plays The Flush Draw

Big Hands and Storylines:
Vince Van Patten Squeezes a Value Bet on the River
A player in early position made it 900 to go, and Vince Van Patten made the call from the cut-off. After Van Patten had a chance to put on his sunglasses, the flop came down K K 10 . The other player checked, and Van Patten made a bet of 1,500. His opponent called and the J peeled off on the turn. Both players checked, and the 6 fell on the river. Again the early position player checked, and Van Patten fired a bet of 3,000. After his opponent called, Van Patten turned over A J . Van Patten’s opponent mucked his cards.
Ray Romano Shows Too Much
The player in the hijack seat (one to the right of the cut-off) raised to a total of 900, and Ray Romano called as the player next to act. All other players folded, and the dealer put down a flop of 8 6 4 . The hijack seat bet 1,400, and Romano raised to 6,000 total. His opponent folded, and Romano turned over 8 8 for top set. “I show too much,” Romano remarked as he dragged the pot. His opponent told him that he folded pocket queens to Romano’s raise.
Chau Giang Eliminates Opponent and Adds to Stack
On a flop of 9 8 6 , Chau Giang faced an all in bet of 17,200 from his opponent. After deliberating for several moments, Giang finally made a decision based on the size of the pot. “There’s just too much money out there. I call,” Giang said and turned over 7 7 . Giang’s opponent revealed Q 10 for two overcards and a two-way inside straight draw. The 5 on the turn completed Giang’s straight, and the meaningless 10 on the river only improved Giang’s straight. Giang finished the hand with over 75,000 in chips.
Mike Sowers Eliminated
Mike “sowerss” Sowers raised to 800 in early position and was called by the two players to his left. Action was then on Jonathan Little in the cutoff who raised to 3,400. Action folded around to Sowers who moved all-in for about 22,000. The two callers folded and Little called. Sowers showed K Q and Little had A A . The board ran out J 8 2 2 8 and Sowers, who had Little covered, was crippled.
Only a few hands later Sowers would get his remaining 1,175 chips in with A 4 against an opponent’s Q Q . The board ran out 8 5 2 K 8 and Sowers’ day came to an abrupt close.
Shulman's knocks out player
Following a J-10-x flop, a player short on chips moved all in and Barry Shulman called. Shulman held K-Q for a straight draw with over cards, and his opponent held just K-9. An ace came on the river to give Shulman a straight and the pot. After the hand Shulman was up to 54,000 chips.
Hennigan gets back to starting stack with flush
With the board 9 5 4 2 John Hennigan bet 5,300 from the big blind and was called by a player in middle position. The river was the 7 and both players checked. Hennigan flipped over J 8 for a flush and took down the pot. Hennigan was up to 22,000 chips after the hand.
Toto caught, forced to fold
Three players saw a A 9 6 flop and a player bet out 600. Toto Leonidas raised to 1,800, and then a player in the big blind raised to 5,300. The initial bettor folded and Leonidas laughed and laid down his hand as well.
Two Bullets and a Dagger
On a K 9 4 flop, Richard Roop bet 2,400 into two opponents. Dario Alioto called and the third player folded. The 5 came on the turn and the small blind again bet, 3,200 this time. Alioto made a quick call and the pair saw the river. The river was the J and Roop quickly bet 10,000. Alioto made the call and Roop showed Q 10 for a gutshot straight. Roop’s aggression, firing two bullets with only a gutshot straight draw, paid off, and he now has 45,000. Alioto is back down to his starting stack size.
