$1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout - Level 13 - End of Day
Jul 01, '08
Play has ended for the evening. Of the 90 players who returned to play four levels in round two, only 18 were eliminated, though they included notables J.C. Tran, Andy Bloch, Allen Le, Terrence Chan, and John Myung.
Players return to continue play at 2 p.m. Wednesday, and the final table will commence one hour after the final table has been concluded in round two.
Blinds: 500/1000
Limits: 1000/2000
Big Hands
Corkins Can't Connect
Hoyt Corkins raised to 2000 and drew calls from three players including both blinds. The flop came 4 4 2 , and after both blinds checked Corkins bet out. He was raised by Eric Rivkin and made the call for 2000. The 8 was the turn card and Corkins check-called for another 2000. The board double-paired on the river with the 8 coming down, which was enough to slow both players. Corkins showed A K , his ace the kicker with two pair on board. But Rivkin held 7 7 for a better two pair and took down the pot.
Kranyak Continues to Splash Around
John Kranyak didn't like a couple of rivers that developed in hands for him in the last level, but he still raked in the chips. In the first hand, Kranyak raised to 2000 preflop and Colin Miners then bumped it to 3000 to result in a heads-up battle. The flop came A Q Q , and Kranyak would check-call the bet of Miners. The turn brought the J and both players checked. The board double-paired on the river with the J , and Kranyak checked. Miners bet 2000 and Kranyak moaned as he called, believing the double-paired board meant his K 10 for the nut straight was suddenly in second place. Yet it proved to be enough against Miner's A 9 .
Just two hands later Kranyak was in a battle with David Bach. The flop had come 7 5 3 , followed by the Q on the turn. Kranyak bet 2000, Bach raised to 4000 and Kranyak reraised to 6000, which Bach called. A fourth diamond came on the river with the 2 , and Kranyak bet again, with Bach calling. It was fortuitous for Kranyak, as he already had the nut flush holding A 5 . Bach mucked his cards.
Bloch Prolongs his Evening. . . Briefly
Andy Bloch was the button and called a raise to 2000 with his shortstack. The flop came Q J J and Bloch was check-raised by Craig Crivello for 2000 more. The 3 was the turn and both players committed another 2000, and Bloch then tossed in his final 500 chip after the 10 fell on the river. His Q 6 for top pair proved enough to temporarily keep him alive at his table. But he was eliminated a few hands later.
Kim Nets Another Pot
Connie Kim raised to 2000 preflop, David Orvis made it 3000 and Kim then capped it at 4000. The flop came J 7 3 , which would prove bad news for Orvis. Kim bet, Orvis raised, and Kim went to 3000 before Orvis simply called. The Q hit the turn card and Orvis called another 2000 bet from Kim. The 4 on the river brought another 2000 bet and call, with Kim then showing A A for the overpair. Orvis held A J , having flopped top pair. Yet at the end of the evening, Orvis would be chip leader at his table and Kim would be among those eliminated.

$1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout - Level 10
Jul 01, '08
Blinds: 200/400
Limits: 400/800
Storylines/Big Hands
Notable tablemates in the new redraw for round 2 include Andy Bloch and J.C. Tran at one table, and David Bach and Jimmy Fricke at another. Allen Le, Hansu Chu and Jean-Robert Bellande are also at a table together.
Ritterbush Makes Early Splash
Randy Ritterbush and three others called the maximum 1600 after the flop came down A 8 2 . On the turn the 6 was presented, and after a bet was made to 400, Ritterbush and the three remaining players all called again. The 9 fell on the river and Ritterbush checked from his small blind position. A bet of 800 was made, was called, one player folded then Ritterbush check-raised to 1600. He drew two callers and flipped over 7 5 . His flush draw had turned into a straight and he took down the huge pot.
Tough Start for Tran
J.C. Tran raised preflop and drew one call. The flop came J 9 7 , and Tran answered a check with a bet, which was called. The 6 was the turn and the same process went down. The 10 hit the river, and Tran refused to bet out a third time, wise as his opponent flipped over 10 8 for the flopped straight.
Tran lost another smaller pot when after the player under the gun raised, Tran bumped it to 1200. There were two callers, and the flop came A 5 5 . Tran drew one call when he bet, then the 9 came on the turn. Tran bet 800, was check-raised, and mucked his hand.
Bach Backs Off
David Bach limped for 400 under the gun, then called a raise and a reraise from Jay Bloom and John Kranyak. The flop came A 10 6 , and after two checks Kranyak bet. Only Bloom called. Both players checked after the J hit the turn, then the 2 fell on the river. Bloom bet out and was called, then took down the pot with A 9 .
Bach later called a Jimmy Fricke raise to 800 and the two were heads up. The flop came K 10 5 , Fricke bet 400 and Bach mucked.

Table Winners: David Bach, Andy Bloch, Kenna James, Davood Mehrmand, David Orvis, Eric Wellman, Jonathan Tamayo, Rhett Butler, Lorenzo Guarin, Markus Stranzinger, Matt Graham, Michelle Ankenmann, Blair Rodman, Randy Ritterbuck, Jean-Robert Bellande.
Storylines/Big Hands
Notable players remaining in heads-up situations include Michael Binger, Ram Vaswani, Jean-Robert Bellande, Jason Young, Scott Seiver, and Theo Tran.
Bach Wastes No Time
David Bach had a short-stacked opponent coming back from the 20-minute break, and it only took one hand for all the chips to go into the middle when they returned. Bach held A 4 and led after the flop came A 6 2 . His opponent started in decent shape with 7 7 , but he never got the help he needed as the J came on the turn and 10 was the river.
Mehrmand Advances
Davood Mehrmand had his opponent down to 900 in chips after the player committed his big blind, then folded to a bet on a flop of 6 6 4 . Now in the small blind, the player raised to be all-in preflop and showed K 7 . Mehrmand made the call with Q 2 . The flop came J 10 3 , and his rival still led with the 4 on the turn. But the 2 on the river paired Mehrmand and brought the match to an end.
Bloch Gets it Done
Andy Bloch's opponent had just 2025 and committed it all preflop, showing 7 5 . Bloch led with the K 6 . Bloch hit the flop that came K 8 4 , though his opponent had a gutshot straight draw. But the 8 on the turn and 9 on the river ended the match.
Bellande Trying to Close, Finally Gets There
Jean-Robert Bellande had a 22,000 to 8,000 edge in chips on his heads-up opponent, but struggled to put the match away. He knocked his rival down to 5,000 in chips after a board of 7 6 4 6 2 , when he held 7 4 for two flopped pair, despite a later counterfeit. But he gave those chips back when his opponent had a well-disguised straight with ace-three in his hand.
Bellande eventually was able to put his opponent away with three minutes remaining in the level.
At Long Last
David Orvis was able to put his opponent away, thanks to taking 3000 chips in a hand when the board read Q 8 5 8 10 . Orvis only held K J for king-high, but that was enough. It left his opponent with just 425 in chips, and they went in on the big blind the next hand. Orvis held Q 10 and his rival a dominated 10 4 . The board finished 8 8 6 5 3 and queen-high was enough.

Davis Crippled, Then Ousted In 10th Place
Barry Greenstein raised to 100,000 preflop from the small blind. Raymond Davis made the call from the big blind and the flop came out A K 8 . Greenstein led out and Davis called. The turn was the 2 and Greenstein fired 100,000, which Davis quickly called. The river brought the A and Greenstein kept the pedal to the metal with another 100,000. Davis mucked angrily and was left with just 100,000.
Two hands later, Davis moved all in from the button and Patrick Bueno made the call from the small blind. Davis turned over A K , dominating Bueno's K 7 . But really, domination is really just a matter of perspective, especially when the flop comes 7 7 2 like it did. Davis was disgusted and needed help on the turn to stay alive. But the 5 left Davis drawing dead and the 5 on the river was the final clump of dirt on Davis' 10th place coffin.
Omaha-8
Ralph Perry Is the Final Table Bubble Boy in 9th Place
Perry raised to 100,000 under the gun and action folded around to Huck Seed in the big blind. Seed called and the flop came A K 6 . Seed led out with 50,000 and Perry raised to 100,000. Seed was not amused as he repopped it to 150,000. Perry did not take that slap lightly, as he raised to 200,000. After all the madness was over, Perry was all in and both players showed their hands.
Perry: J 4 A J
Seed: Q 7 3 2
Seed flopped the nut flush and had Perry's 4-low draw covered with a 3-low draw. The board finished out 10 and K and Perry was out in 9th place.
Eight-or-Better
Nguyen Sends Bach to the Rail in 11th Place
Scotty Nguyen: 8 8 10 7 (7 6 10 )
David Bach: 9 4 K 2 (A 9 -J)
Patrick Bueno: 3 A 6 5 (mucked)
David Bach was all in on 3rd street and Nguyen contested a side pot with Bueno. After all the cards had been dealt, Nguyen turned over two pair and Bueno mucked his hand. All eyes were on Bach who needed a miracle to get any piece of the pot. But when he turned his cards, he revealed a whole lot of nothing and he made his exit in 11th place.

Scotty Nguyen raised to 80,000 under the gun and Bueno made the call from the small blind. The flop came 9 4 2 and Nguyen fired 40,000. Bueno called and the turn was the 8 . Nguyen took the high end with a pair of kings, but his 8-6 low was bested by Bueno's 8-4 low.
Razz
Bueno vs. Nguyen, Round 3
Nguyen: A 9 J 9 (6 5 -X)
Bueno: A 4 9 4 (A 3 8 )
Bueno fired a bet on every street and Nguyen chased him down the whole way. Bueno showed a 9-low and Nguyen mucked his cards as the best he could do was an ace-low.
Stud
Phil Ivey Knocked Out in 12th Place
Ivey: 6 Q 9 8 (3 3 -X)
Nguyen: A 7 Q -X(K 10 -X)
Ivey completed the bet and Nguyen called behid him. He then asked Ivey how much he had left. Nguyen proceeded to bet in the dark on 4th and 5th street to put Ivey at risk. Ivey was ahead with a pair of 3s in the hole but Nguyen had plenty of over cards when the river was dealt. Nguyen showed the card to Ivey, which must have been good enough to send Ivey to the rail since the cards were immediately mixed together and mucked. Ivey got up and made his exit in 12th.
Eight-or-Better
Write It Down
Nguyen: 8 5 2 6 (4 3 8 )
David Bach: 2 Q K 10 (10 10 9 )
Picking up the action on 6th street, Bach fired 80,000 and Nguyen made the call. On the river, Bach bet again and Nguyen popped it to 160,000 total. Bach made the call and Nguyen announced "straight" as he turned over his hole cards. Bach just nodded his head and turned over his set of 10s, much to the delight of Nguyen. Moments later, Bach wrote something down on a piece of paper. Nguyen then turned to Huck Seed and said, "Look at that, baby. You know what he's writing? 'Scotty be me that hand, that day.'" Bach smiled as Nguyen gave his signiature laugh.

Bueno Kicks Ivey
Phil Ivey raised to 60,000 preflop from the cutoff. Action folded around to Patrick Bueno in the big blind who made it 90,000 to go. Ivey made the call and the flop came Q J 3 . Bueno led out and Ivey followed with a call. The turn was the 3 and Bueno bet 60,000. Ivey stuck around and the river put the 5 on the board. Bueno fired another shot that was called by Ivey. Bueno tabled A Q , outkicking Ivey's K Q . Bueno took the pot, providing some relief to his short stack.
Omaha-8
Planting the Seed
Huck Seed raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and Scotty Nguyen made the call from the button. The blinds folded and the flop came K 10 4 . Seed bet 30,000 and Nguyen called. The turn brought the 8 and Seed fired 60,000. Nguyen was persistent, making the call again. The river brought the K and Seed pushed another 60,000 into the middle. Nguyen made the call. Seed turned over A K 6 5 for a set of kings. Nguyen mucked his hand and Seed raked in a nice pot, putting him over 1,000,000 in chips.

Watch the Seed Grow
Huck Seed: 3 5 4 10 (A 2 4 )
David Bach: 5 3 K 8 (mucked)
Picking up the action on 4th street, David Bach fired a bet of 30,000 and Seed made the call. The tables turned on 5th street when Bach checked and Seed led out with 60,000. Bach hung around and Seed check-raised on 6th street. Bach called again and did the same for Seed's bet on the river. Seed turned over the wheel for the nuts and the pot as Bach mucked.
Stud
Another Name for Stud? Scotty Baby
Scotty Nguyen: J 7 10 6 (10 10 -X)
Phil Ivey: 4 7 9 5 (mucked)
Patrick Bueno: 10 7 A 2 (mucked)
In a pot where the betting was controlled by Bueno, Scotty Nguyen called his opponent down to the river with Phil Ivey bringing up the rear. On the river, Bueno slowed down and checked. Nguyen pounced and bet 60,000. Ivey had enough of the madness and elected to muck his hand. Bueno didn't know any better and called. Nguyen turned over the bad news with a couple of 10s in the hole to go with the 10 he was already showing. Bueno mucked and Nguyen took the pot.
Eight-or-Better
Daniel Negreanu Out in 13th Place
Negreanu: A 3 K A 7 (mucked)
Lyle Berman: 8 4 6 3 (3 6 3 )
In a hand that started with Negreanu betting on 3rd street, "Kid Poker" and Berman fired shot after shot at each other on the next two streets until Negreanu had no more bullets left and was all in on 5th street. Negreanu's aces were ahead until Berman caught a second pair on 6th street and filled up on the river to send Negreanu to the rail in 13th place.
Two Scoops
Ivey: A 10 3 2 4 A 4
Bueno: 7 9 7 6 (mucked)
One hand after Bueno scooped against Ivey, the tables turned when Ivey showed a club flush after the river. Bueno simply mucked his hand and Ivey scooped the pot. During the eight hands dealt during the eight-or-better session, Ivey and Bueno tangled three times. On the first occasion, they each split the pot. The second time had Bueno scooping while the third had Ivey returning the favor.

Play slowed during the hour, as after two eliminations the dealing was stopped so that players could redraw for new seats. Players were now officially in the money after Mike Wattel was busted out in 17th place.
As well, a 20-minute break was scheduled for the session. But there was still action to be found as the players continued to work their way down to a final eight who would form the championship table.
Blinds increased to 13000/25000 when the players returned from their break. They are scheduled for one more level of play before taking a 90-minute dinner break.
Seven-Card Stud
Greenstein Bumps Wattel to Rail
Mike Wattel was attempting to nurse his short-stack, but had the misfortune of playing stud which required a 5000 ante. He only had 20,000 to begin with, so ended up pushing all-in when he was down to 15,000. Greenstein made the call. Wattel showed the Q and revealed he had another in the hole for a pair. But Greenstein, with the A 10 , would then hit running diamonds to complete the flush.
Doyle Brunson First Out After Reaching the Money
Brunson: (mucked)Q 10 5 3
Phil Ivey: (X-X-X)7 K 5 K
Barry Greenstein: (mucked)6 9 3 K
Texas Dolly moved all in showing a Q and both Greenstein and Ivey called. The two then went at each other on every street, Ivey being the aggressor the entire way and Greenstein calling him down. Ivey only had a pair of kings, but it was enough to take the pot and send Brunson off with a standing ovation from the rail birds in 16th place.
Andy Bloch Follows Brunson Out the Door in 15th Place
Andy Bloch was all in against Matt Glantz's pair of aces. Bloch had a pair of 10s to at least have something to fight with, but he could not improve the rest of the way and he was out in 15th place.
Another Victim Of Stud
Joseph Michael: (6 A 4 )7 4 10 6
David Bach: (K K 10 )7 J 10 A
Michael needed to dodge Bach's river card after he was all in on 6th street. Michael had two pair; sixes and fours, while Bach had kings in the hole. The river gave Bach an additional pair of 10s and Michael was out in 14th place.
Hold'em
Bueno Wins Monster from Michael
Barry Greenstein limped from under the gun, setting a trend as Bueno, Huck Seed, Joseph Michael, Scotty Nguyen in the small blind and Phil Ivey in the big blind limped along. The flop came Q J 4 , and Ivey stepped out for 20,000 after Nguyen checked. Bueno and Michael called while the others folded. The 9 was the turn card, and Ivey bet 40,000. Bueno then raised to 80,000, and Michael, from the button, made it 120,000. Ivey folded and Bueno called. The river paired the board with the J . Bueno checked, Michael bet 40,000, and Bueno then check-raised to 80,000. An exasperated Michael made the call and showed K 10 for the nut straight. But Bueno was the winner, making his full house by holding Q J .
Greenstein Edges Out Ivey
Barry Greenstein and Phil Ivey raised and reraised each other preflop, and saw the cards come down 10 4 7 . More betting and raising followed, and again after the 9 on the turn. The 4 completed the board, both players bet again, and Ivey showed pocket jacks, second best to Greenstein's pocket queens.

Seven-Card Stud
Greenstein Picks Up Momentum
Barry Greenstein won consecutive pots to strengthen his position near the top of the leaderboard. In a battle with Mike Wattel, Greenstein opened with the J 2 7 through fifth street, and used a check-raise at that point which Wattel called. Greenstein added the Q on sixth street and would bet again, as he did on seventh. Wattel was showing 10 K 3 5 , and would call after the seventh card, but found he was second best to Greenstein who held J-8-7 in the hole for two pair.
Greenstein then padded his total with a showdown against Ralph Perry, before the latter was moved. Greenstein had the bring-in with the 3 and Perry completed with the A . Perry controlled the betting throughout, adding the J 4 Q . Greenstein was showing 3 8 10 , but when the 6 came on sixth street he put in a raise to 80,000. After seventh street, and another Perry call of 40,000, Greenstein flipped over queen-6-6 for trip sixes to take the pot.
Hold'em
Negreanu Trips Up, In a Good Way
It was a heads-up battle between the blinds as Daniel Negreanu and David Bach butted heads. Negreanu limped to see a flop come K Q J . Negreanu checked, then raised the 20,000 bet from Bach, who called. The 8 was the turn and Negreanu had his 40,000 bet called. The river was the K and brought another bet and call. Negreanu then announced "king" and showed his small blind special of K 2 to take the pot.
Greenstein Outflops Ivey
Phil Ivey raised to 40,000 preflop, Lyle Berman called from the button, and Barry Greenstein called from the small blind. The flop came A 4 2 , Greenstein checked, and Ivey bet 20,000. Berman folded and Greenstein then raised to 40,000, which Ivey called. The J came on the turn and both players committed another 40,000, then the 8 hit the river. Greenstein bet and Ivey folded, with Greenstein showing the A .
Omaha 8/B
Davis Sweeps from Doyle
Ray Davis raised preflop and Doyle Brunson was a caller. The flop came K 3 3 and Davis had another bet called. The A was the turn, bringing in a low draw, but the K double paired the board on the river. Davis bet 40,000 and Brunson folded. Davis showed pocket aces for the full house to sweep the pot.

Omaha 8/B
Davis Scoops Pot, Triples Up
Raymond Davis, Michael Mizrachi, and Daniel Negreanu all called a series of pre-flop raises to see the flop come down A K 9 . Betting was rapid again, and when the 8 hit the turn, Davis bet out again for 36,000. Negreanu called and Mizrachi then raised to 72,000. It put Davis all-in for 59,000 total, and Negreanu called as well. The Q hit the river and both Negreanu and Mizrachi checked. Negreanu had a heart-flush draw plus a low draw, and missed both. Mizrachi held pocket kings with the nut-flush spade draw, and Davis scooped the pot when his A A held up to take the high, with no low coming.
The extra ammunition proved key when Davis eliminated Mizrachi a few hands later, when the game had switched to Razz. Through fifth street Davis was showing 7 6 5 , while Mizrachi had Q 8 6 . Mizrachi was all-in after sixth street, and Davis showed him his ace-three in the hole for a seven-high. Mizrachi, with ace-four-deuce, needed to improve his hand, but paired his deuce on seventh street to be eliminated.
Perry Sweeps a Monster
Ralph Perry raised to 36,000 under the gun, and Joseph Michael reraised to 54,000. Lyle Berman called, as did Farah Bonyadi in the big blind. The flop came Q 8 6 , and action was checked to Berman who bet 18,000. Perry and Michael called. The 4 came on the turn, and Perry bet 36,000. Michael stepped out of the way, and Berman called. The 5 was the river and Perry bet another 36,000. Berman reluctantly called, but he had walked into a monster. Perry held A 2 for the nut low, as well as 7 9 for the nut straight.
Lindgren Takes From Doyle
Doyle Brunson raised to 36,000 and drew calls from Ray Davis, Erick Lindgren, and Michael Mizrachi. Both blinds folded. The flop came 10 9 2 and Brunson led out for 18,000. Davis and Lindgren called. The board paired with the 10 on the turn and Brunson bet 36,000, which Lindgren called. The 8 on the river was followed by two checks. Lindgren flipped over K Q Q J for the straight, and Brunson mucked his hand.
Seven-Card Stud
Negreanu Rakes in Monster
It was four-way action with raises through fourth street with Daniel Negreanu, David Bach, Ray Davis and Erick Lindgren, creating a massive pot.. A Bach bet of 20,000 reduced the field to just Negreanu. After sixth street, Bach was showing K 9 9 4 , while Negreanu had J 10 7 5 . Bach bet 40,000, and Negreanu then put in a raise to 80,000. Bach called, and each received their seventh card. Bach checked and Negreanu bet another 40,000. Bach called, and Negreanu showed 5-5-10 in the hole for the full house to sweep in the chips.

Ace-High No Good For Mackey
James “mig.com” Mackey, who has found quite a bit of success in mixed events this year, hit a bit of a road block in Alexander Kostritsyn in the last level. Kostritsyn raised to 12,000 on the button and Mackey upped it to 18,000 in the big blind. Kostritsyn called. On a flop of K J 6 , Mackey bet and the young Russian called. Mackey bet and Kostritsyn called again on the 5 turn. Action halted on the river when both players checked the 6 . Mackey showed A 3 for ace-high and was beaten by Kostritsyn’s pair of jacks with J 10 . The hand boosted Kostritsyn to 180,000.

Big Stacks Tangle
The holders of two of the biggest stacks of the tournament, Phil Ivey and Bill Chen, played an Omaha eight-or-better pot in the last round that resulted in a scoop for one of the two. Ivey raised from early position and it folded around to Chen in the big blind. Chen made the call and the flop came off 8 6 5 . Chen check-raised Ivey on the flop and Ivey made the call. Chen bet the 2 turn and Ivey made another call. Both players checked the 4 river and Chen showed Q Q 7 4 for a straight and a 7-low. Ivey rapped the table and Chen raked in a pot to move to 420,000 in chips. Ivey is not to be pitied though, as he ended the level with 500,000.

Ralph Perry: 2 J 3 Q
Justin Bonomo: A 2 8 J
Michael Joseph completed with the 3 showing on third street, Perry raised, and Bonomo made it 18,000. Both Joseph and Perry called. On fourth street, Bonomo bet out with A 2 showing, Michael, having drawn a Q , folded, and Perry called despite drawing a jack. On fifth and sixth streets, Bonomo bet and Perry called. Both players checked the river and Bonomo tabled (3 )(2 )(J ). Perry surveyed Bonomo’s cards very closely, then scrutinized his own, before finally revealing (A )(5 )(5 ) for a J-5 low, narrowly edging out Bonomo’s J-8 low.
The pot gave Perry a stack of 245,000. Bonomo is hovering near the 300,000 chip mark.

Marcel Luske Eliminates Steve Sung
Steve Sung, desperately short-stacked, got his chips all-in against Marcel Luske. The news was bad for Sung when Luske showed (A )(Q )10 J K 3 for the broadway straight. Sung had a flush draw though – (9 )(5 )K Q 6 2 . Sung looked at his final card and then stood up and quickly left the table. After winning the pot Luske was up to 290,000.
James Mackey Eliminates Doug Ganger
Doug Ganger: 2 K 7 5
James Mackey: A 7 3 8
Mickey Appleman: K 4 10 8
With only a few thousand chips left, Ganger brought in with his deuce and found himself all-in on third street. Mackey bet every street on the hand and Appleman called him down all the way until seventh street where he folded. Mackey showed (A )(10 )(9 ) and that was good enough to take down the pot and eliminate Ganger. After some early trouble in the level, Mackey has bounced back to 250,000.

Negreanu raked the pot, bringing his chip count to over 250,000 while Antonius made an early exit.

Greg Raymer Eliminated by Mike Matusow
It's funny how things work out at the WSOP. Greg Raymer drew a seat right next to his nemesis Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, and just as peeple were thinking to themselves how well the two former rivals were getting along, Matusow somehow went and messed it all up. We're not sure exactly what happened and/or what was said, but Raymer was eliminated by Matusow and left the tournament with a bang. Raymer got up from his seat, ripped the 8 in half and stormed out of the room.

I Thought We Were Done With the Chopping
Scotty Nguyen raised to 40,000 and Patrick Bueno made the call from the big blind. The flop then came 10 10 6 . Nguyen bet 40,000 and Bueno raised to 80,000. Nguyen made the call and the turn was the 6 . Nguyen bet after Bueno checked to him. After a call from Bueno, the river dropped with the 7 . Both players checked and Bueno showed A K for two pair with an ace kicker. Nguyen then flipped over the A to signify the same hand. He later showed his J and both players choppped the pot.

I Guess We Aren't Finished With the Chops
Scotty Nguyen raised to 80,000 under the gun and Bueno made the call from the small blind. The flop came 9 4 2 and Nguyen fired 40,000. Bueno called and the turn was the 8 . Nguyen fired 80,000 and Bueno raised to 160,000. Nguyen called and the river was the K . Both players checked and Nguyen showed A K 6 5 while Bueno showed A 3 J 8 . Nguyen took the high end with a pair of kings, but his 8-6 low was bested by Bueno's 8-4 low.

Bueno vs. Nguyen, Round 3
Nguyen: A 9 J 9 (6 5 -X)

Bueno led out and Ivey followed with a call. The turn was the 3 and Bueno bet 60,000. Ivey stuck around and the river put the 5 on the board. Bueno fired another shot that was called by Ivey.

Bueno: 7 9 7 6 (mucked)

Patrik Antonius Eliminated by Daniel Negreanu
With both players having a 4 in the door, Daniel Negreanu (4 ) and Patrik Antonus (4 ) raised and reraised eachother until Antonius was all in. Negreanu started the hand with wired kings while Antonius held wired tens. Negreanu made trip kings on fourth street while Antonius failed to improve.

Omaha-8
Razz

Razz

Storylines/Big Hands

Omaha 8/b
Freddy Deeb Eliminated by Steve Zolotow
The defending champ defends his titile no more after getting it all in with two pair on a A Q 9 flop against Steve Zolotow. Two pair...no good! Zolotow tunred over A A for top set. Deeb was drawing to quads on the flop and drawing dead on the turn as Zolotow raked the pot and send the former champ to rail.
Razz
Jen Harman Eliminated by Lyle Berman
Lyle Berman completed the bet to 4,000 with the 8 , Mike Matusow called the raise with the Q and Jen Harman called all in for her last 4,000 with the 9 . Matusow and Berman continued to play for the side pot. Berman bet the whole way, Matusow calling him down through sixth street, eventually folding to his last bet on the river.
Berman: 8 K 4 8 - 7 3 2
Matusow: Q 6 J 6 - X-X-fold
Harman: 9 7 K A - X-X-X
Berman raked the side pot when Matusow folded to his bet on seventh street and turned over an 8-7-4-3-2 low for the main pot. Harman mucked and Berman raked the main pot as well, eliminating Jen Harman at the tail end of Level 10.

Negreanu raked the pot, bringing his chip count to over 250,000 while Antonius made an early exit.
Stud 8/b
Greg Raymer Eliminated by Mike Matusow
It's funny how things work out at the WSOP. Greg Raymer drew a seat right next to his nemesis Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, and just as peeple were thinking to themselves how well the two former rivals were getting along, Matusow somehow went and messed it all up. We're not sure exactly what happened and/or what was said, but Raymer was eliminated by Matusow and left the tournament with a bang. Raymer got up from his seat, ripped the 8 in half and stormed out of the room.
