Eli Elezra was born in Jerusalem, Israel, but made a life for himself in Las Vegas. In 1988, he bought a one-hour film development shop on the Las Vegas Strip for $300,000. His franchise became one of the first express-photo shops in the nation after he invested in a new technology that made it possible for him to develop film in just 30 minutes.
He is known by his peers to be a fierce mixed-games player. Elezra won more than $1 million dollars when he captured the 2004 World Poker Tour Mirage Poker Showdown title. He has finished in the top 10 of six World Series of Poker events and finally won his first bracelet in the 2007 $3,000 buy-in seven-card stud eight-or-better event. However, he is best known as a regular player in the world's highest-stakes cash games.
Although poker takes much of his time, his family is his first priority. Elezra and his wife, Hila, have five children.
