Former kindergarten teacher Dewey Tomko knows how to take his opponents to task. Probably best known for his near wins in the World Series of Poker championship event in 1982 and in 2001, Tomko is one of the toughest competitors in the game.
Having turned pro after teaching kids, Tomko has now collected three World Series of Poker bracelets, over $3.5 million in prize money and is one of the top WSOP money earners of all time.
Born in Pennsylvania and now hailing from Winterhaven, Florida, Tomko has also found success on the World Poker Tour, with a second and a fourth-place finish.
