‘GucciNIKE‘ and ‘NV22‘ have been playing some of the biggest pots in the history of online poker. Their heads-up pot-limit Omaha action on CoinPoker has reached epic proportions, as the two battled on May 9 at stakes that escalated to $2,500-$5,000 with a $1,000 ante.
While NV22 has managed to get the better of another high-stakes titan in ‘Giselle54,’ the match with GucciNIKE has gone in completely the other direction. GucciNIKE won more than $2 million in their match, and the two played multiple seven-figure pots, including one $2 million whopper. That’ll happen when both players are fearlessly sitting 200 blinds deep.
The $2 Million Pot
Playing 200 big blinds deep, GucciNIKE raised to $15,000 and called a three-bet to $45,000.
On the J♠7♣3♥, NV22 bet pot for $92,000. GucciNIKE called. The turn was the 4♠. NV22 potted again for $276,000. GucciNIKE shoved all in for about $865,000 effective. NV22 called.
NV22 showed K♥J♥6♣5♥ for the nuts. GucciNIKE held K♠7♠7♦4♣ for a set and a flush draw. The river was the 3♠, giving GucciNIKE a full house to scoop the $2 million pot.

Hand Analysis
K-J-6-5 isn’t even a three-bet at 100 blinds unless it’s double-suited, so NV22’s preflop aggression is much too wide. The big blind has to be tighter with three-bets at deeper stacks because there’s a bigger penalty for playing out of position.
On the flop, NV22 pots, which is also far too aggressive. Some J-X hands are going to be nice to pot, but they’ll mainly be hands that play very poorly on later streets. The player is essentially turning the hand into a bluff with the top set blocker, usually with a pair in hand. Otherwise, checking and evaluating or c-betting a smaller size is usually best.
GucciNIKE decides to slow play. On a rainbow board, playing for stacks on most turns is going to be comfortable.
The 4♠ is certainly one of them. Set plus flush draw is pretty much always a good hand to get all in, since it beats most hands the opponent can have, and it’s usually flipping against a straight. In this case, GucciNIKE has about 40% according to the Card Player PLO odds calculator, as they block their own full house chance a bit.
Since NV22 potted turn and some of GucciNIKE’s equity is non-nutted, jamming is best. The opponent shouldn’t be very 6-5 heavy after three-betting and potting a J-7-3 flop, so it’s time to run it and see what happens. It works out for GucciNIKE as the flip goes their way.
NV22’s All-In Bluff
About 130 big blinds deep, GucciNIKE raised to $15,000, and NV22 called.
NV22 checked and called $16,000 on the 6♠5♠2♦ flop, bringing a 10♥. NV22 checked, GucciNIKE potted for $64,000, and NV22 raised to $208,000. GucciNIKE called. The river was the Q♣, and NV22 jammed for $408,700 effective.
GucciNIKE quickly called off with J♦8♥4♦3♦ for the nuts, and NV22 showed 7♠5♥3♥3♣.

Hand Analysis
This hand is interesting because NV22 makes a mistake that plagues many players learning PLO, getting carried away with blockers.
Their interesting decision points start on the flop, as the 6-5-2 texture tends to favor the big blind’s defending range, since that range is pretty full of smaller cards that rarely three-bet. They could lead here, and it’s certainly a play that players in ring games should consider, as that mechanic is more stark when button raising ranges are tighter.
Check-calling is fine, but they could also check-raise as a bluff. The 7♠ is nice, as are the 3s and the possibility of making a higher straight than the current nuts. Overall, the hand just has a lot of playability plus blocker value.
Facing a pot-sized bet on the turn, NV22 should actually probably just fold. Once the big blind cedes the aggression to the in-position player here, and they pot it, that player is repping very strong hands that are usually stacking off or calling a check-raise. These include straights, sets with added equity, and strong combo hands like 10-8-7-6 with spades. Those hands aren’t folding, and playing rivers is going to be tough, since the value of the 3s as blockers will diminish on any nut-changing river.
As it happens, one of the bricks falls, and NV22 has a mandatory jam as played. It doesn’t work out, though, because GucciNIKE opted for a non-standard slow play on the turn, and NV22 gets punished for the max.
