The 2025 World Series of Poker Paradise $25,000 super main event made history before it even got underway at Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas, with its $60,000,000 guarantee being the largest yet on the poker circuit.
In the end, that lofty goal was surpassed by over $12.2 million. A total of 2,891 entries grew the final prize pool of $72,275,000.
The staggering turnout was achieved in part by some of the biggest names in the game firing multiple bullets into the sizable event. Among the most visible was Poker Hall of Famer and seven-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, who bought into the tournament 10 times before registration officially closed on Monday, Dec. 15.
While plenty of players took advantage of the opportunity to buy-in multiple times, Negreanu’s quarter-million-dollar bullet bonanza was particularly conspicuous given he self-reported his trials and tribulations in the tournament via his wildly popular video blog.
The GGPoker ambassador has over 913,000 subscribers on YouTube alone, with over a million views already tallied on his vlogs from this festival.
The tenth bullet was the charm for Negreanu, as he finally bagged on day 1D before returning for day 2B. He was able to survive the event’s second money bubble, ultimately finishing 134th for $55,000. Negreanu did a quick interview with WSOP staff before sitting down for the day, which covered his thoughts on re-entry mania.
The WSOP Super Main set a hefty guaranteed this year and looks ready to hit it 👀@RealKidPoker has done his part with TEN entries but he’s also trying to keep those prize pools going by bringing new people into the game – like @HilaKleinH3 and her H3 family!@GGPoker… pic.twitter.com/9E4BUQ0m61

“It’s a crazy tournament, as you know obviously,” Negreanu said to WSOP sideline reporter Jeff Platt. “People are rebuying. There are a lot of people in for at least a six-pack of buy-ins. This could be like a $300,000 tournament for some players. Yours truly, I’m in for ten, but that’s not even crazy. I’m in the race, but I ain’t the leader. There are guys in for more than that.”
$10 Million Up Top In Super Main Event
Negreanu now has just shy of $57 million in career tournament earnings to his name after cashing in this event, keeping him inside the top ten on poker’s all-time money list. He also cashed in two earlier WSOP Paradise Triton events, finishing 10th in the $100,000 pot-limit Omaha tournament and 18th in the $250,000 invitational. Those two scores added $629,000 to his tally.
While Negreanu is no longer in contention, there are 202 players now remaining with a shot at the bracelet and the staggering top prize of $10 million. Five-time bracelet winner Martin Kabrhel leads the pack. Hot on his heels are notables Jean-Noel Thorel, Faraz Jaka, Jesse Lonis, and Chad Eveslage.
The top eight finishers are set to earn seven figures or more in this event. Here is a look at the final table payouts that are up for grabs.
