Analysis
Lewis tried a preflop resteal, but Jensen absorbed the reraise with his medium pocket pair in position. Lewis made a solid lead-out bet, retaining the lead in the hand while continuing to represent strength. This stalled Jensen into a pot-controlling mode wherein he called the flop but checked behind on the turn. Jensen might have missed an opportunity on the turn, as many kings in Lewis' shoes would continue to protect against the flush draw or build the pot with another bet. The line looked consistent with a necessary stab that had now given up. Jensen practiced pot-control instead of taking the lead on the turn, but was rivered as Lewis subsequently paired his queen. The hand demonstrated a very effective benefit of preflop three-betting, as it slowed down an opponent on subsequent streets who had become wary.
