Elton Tsang made his mark on the nosebleed-stakes scene when he took down the 2016 €1,000,000 Big One For One Drop Invitational for a World Series of Poker gold bracelet and nearly $12.2 million dollars.
The Hong Kong resident is far from a one-hit wonder, though. He has cashed for another $13.6 million on the live scene outside of that career-defining victory, with the vast majority of his success coming in Triton Poker events. Tsang has now cashed for more than $12.7 million on the high-stakes-centric tour, including winning two trident trophies. His most recent title saw him defeat a field of 58 entries in the $100,000 short deck event at the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju festival, earning $1,697,000 for the win.
Tsang’s previous Triton victory came in the 2024 Triton Jeju $150,000 buy-in. He earned $4.2 million for that massive triumph.
“It was very, very exciting. I was very nervous. In tournaments, I get nervous. I don’t know why, but the heart beat is really rising a lot,” Tsang told Triton reporters. “I feel very good. It’s very enjoyable when you win.”
This was Tsang’s first recorded score of 2025. It brought his lifetime haul to nearly $25.9 million.
Phua Bubbles, Short-Deck Regulars Hit The Rail Early At The Final Table
The healthy turnout built a prize pool of $5.8 million that was split amongst the top nine finishers. Paul Phua was hoping to follow in the footsteps of his fellow Triton co-founder Riched Yong, who won event no. 1 at this stop, but was ultimately eliminated on the direct money bubble when his A♥J♥ was unable to come from behind against the A♦K♣ of Zhang Shao.
Two-time bracelet winner and Triton champion Daniel Dvoress (9th) soon followed Phua to the rail. Shao was close behind in eighth place.

Tan Xuan
Winfred Yu, whose two Triton wins both came in short deck events, was left short during seven-handed action. He then lost a three-way all-in for his last handful of antes, earning $284,000 for his latest deep run.
Michael Zhang, who finished second to Yong in the kickoff short deck event for $510,000, was the next to fall. His final hand pitted 10♥9♥ against the A♦10♦ of Tsang. Zhang was unable to come from behind and added $359,000 to his tally as the sixth-place finisher.
Tan Xuan, a three-time Triton short deck event champion, bowed out in fifth place ($464,000). Tan ran K♦J♥ into the A♥10♠ of Tsang for the last of his stack. He now has more than $11.6 million in overall Triton earnings after this performance.
Tsang Loses The Lead, Then Spikes A Jack To Regain It And Close Out The Win
Tsang then busted Ferdinand Putra (4th – $598,000), besting A♥9♥ with K♥Q♣.
Two-time Super High Roller Bowl champion Isaac Haxton scored a big double up through Tsang during three-handed action to overtake the top spot in the counts. He then had a chance to all but lock up the title when he and Tsang tangled in another big showdown. Haxton was ahead with pocket kings against pocket jacks, but the flop gave Tsang a set and he held from there to surge back in front.
Haxton was left on fumes after that. He got the last of his chips in with J-10 trailing the Q-10 of Wang Ye. Haxton turned a king high straight, but Wang rivered kings full of queens to send Haxton to the rail in third place ($792,000). He now has more than $58.8 million in career cashes, good for seventh on poker’s all-time money list.
Tsang entered heads-up play with 83 antes to the 48 of Wang. The tables turned when Wang won a big one with a set of tens against Tsang’s top pair of jacks. Tsang doubled up with pocket nines outracing J-10 and then battled back into the lead from there.
In the final hand of the tournament, Wang got all-in with K♦10♥ facing Q♦J♣ for Tsang. Tehboard came down J♥9♥8♦A♣10♦ and Tsang made a queen-high straight to lock up the win. Wang earned $1,218,000 as the runner-up, the second-largest score of his career. His top payday came when he finished third in a $150,000 event earlier this year. That run came with nearly $2.1 million in prize money for Wang.
