Preflop, final table, heads-up, with the blinds at 30,000 and 60,000 and 10,000 ante, Filatov raised to 125,000 from the button, Soulier went all-in, and Filatov called.

After starting the heads up portion of the match with a deficit, Filatov evened up the chip count before Soulier went on a rush to capture the 7:1 advantage he enjoyed at the start of this hand. Filatov’s two broadway cards constituted a strong holding, and he realized Soulier was liable to make a move with his considerable chip lead. Filatov decided he wasn’t going to get away from King high at this point, but he discovered he was trailing Soulier’s Ace high after calling. Filatov picked up additional outs to a gutshot straight on the flop, but he was unable to come from behind with a King, Jack or Ten to survive, busting in 2nd for €265,200. This is a breakout year for Filatov, who just finished 28th in the EPT Vienna main event days earlier and also posted a $165,164 cash last April at the EPT Berlin. Soulier scored €392,900 and another major as he moved his lifetime winnings to $5.1 million.
