Preflop, final table, heads-up, with the blinds at 60,000 and 120,000 and a 20,000 ante, Lunkin raised to 240,000 from the button, Seidel reraised to 725,000, Lunkin went all-in, and Seidel called.

Seidel was poised to add yet another impressive high roller victory to his resume after he caught Lunkin all-in with a weak Ace against his dominating pocket Queens. After Lunkin faced a three-bet on his button, he relied on his Ace while hoping Seidel was simply playing back at him with a bigger stack out of the big blind. Lunkin’s stack of 30 big blinds was still large enough to be cautious about a weak Ace in the face of resistance, but after some deliberation he went all-in hoping to shut down a stack play from Seidel. The Ace on the flop gave the Russian a stay of execution, which he eventually converted into a victory and €771,300. Seidel’s runner up finish was good for €557,100. Seidel and Lunkin outlasted some pretty fierce competition – the final table included Steve O’Dwyer (3rd €355,100) Mike “Timex” McDonald (4th, €269,400) David Benefield (5th €208,150) Ole Schemion (6th, €159,200) Fabian Quoss (7th, €128,515) and finally Timothy Adams busted in 8th for the unfortunate bubble.
