Final table, six handed, with the blinds at 25,000 and 50,000 and a 5,000 ante, Karim raised to 110,000 from middle position, Eyster called in the small blind. On the Flop, Eyster bet 150,000, Karim went all-in, Eyster called.
Eyster camouflaged the strength of his hand with his preflop smooth call, and then dodged overcards on a coordinated flop. Eyster didn’t want to offer any more free cards however, so he lead out with a bet sized at half of the pot. Karim flopped an open ended straight draw with overcards, and he responded with an aggressive all-in semibluff. Eyster held two blockers against Karim’s straight draw reducing those outs to six, but Karim also held a few additional outs to his Queen. The turn gave Eyster a straight, removing Karim’s outs to the Queens and Sixes but compensating him with a backdoor flush draw. Karim made his flush on the river, catching a key double up while Eyster lost 22% of his stack and the chip lead on the hand.
