Baldwin started out in poker, and by 1979 he had won four WSOP bracelets. He won the 1978 main event, taking down $210,000. An occasional player in the big game at Bellagio, he was enshrined in the poker hall of fame in 2003.
Baldwin became president of the Golden Nugget in 1984 and has gone on to run the Mirage and Bellagio during his career. He currently manages the massive City Center project as well as numerous properties in Las Vegas.
