Mads Andersen Bio

Mads Andersen won his first championship in 2002 ... in backgammon. The Danish poker pro is a backgammon world champion, however, backgammon doesn't pay the bills quite like poker does. He has used his aggressive play and superior hand-reading skills to beat some of the best in the game.

By the age of 29, Andersen had already amassed lifetime poker winnings in excess of $1,100,000. He beat out Robert Williamson III to win a $1,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha tournament in the 2005 Jack Binion World Poker Open, good for $118,379. He then went on to win the 2006 European Poker Tour Scandinavian Open, a title worth $413,442.
