Tom McEvoy Bio

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Tom McEvoy is considered by those involved in the industry as a true gentleman and a great ambassador for the sport.

He was originally an accountant, but it wasn't long before McEvoy moved to Las Vegas in 1979 to become a professional poker player. Specializing in tournaments, McEvoy pursued his dream of a WSOP bracelet and made it happen four years later.

With six books under his belt, McEvoy is one of the most recognized names in the game and is one of the select few players to win the $10,000 World Series of Poker championship event.

In addition to being a renowned author and one of Card Player magazine's all-star poker professional writers, McEvoy was the first player to win a WSOP bracelet after winning his way into the tournament through a satellite.

When not on the tournament trail, writing a book, or penning an article for Card Player, McEvoy can be found representing online poker giant PokerStars.
