Casey JarzabekThe 2010 World Series of Poker is officially underway, but that won’t stop Card Player from bringing you the latest news from the world of online poker.

After a relatively quiet week, the top three in this week’s Online Player of the Year leader board look exactly the same. The only difference is that Casey “bigdogpckt5s” Jarzabek (pictured left) has made up substantial ground on leader Taylor “ambiguosity” Paur.

On Sunday, Jarzabek had four OPOY-qualifying cashes, including a win in the $100 rebuy on Full Tilt for $47,225. He now has $528,044 in online winnings this year and is just 112 points shy of the lead. Corey “Comandr_cool” Burbick sits in third place.

The month of May was particularly kind to online player “kirbynator.” The American pro wishes to remain anonymous, but can’t hide from his stellar results, which saw the greatest monthly OPOY-point total in the award’s history.

Mark HermIn May alone, “kirbynator” had six OPOY-qualifying cashes worth 3,998 points. His year-to-date total of 5,918 has him residing in fourth place overall.

The newcomer to the top 10 this week is Mark “dipthrong” Herm. (pictured right) The Pennsylvania resident was a staple of the rankings two years and has finally made his return. Herm has $374,248 in winnings this year and has put himself in a position to contend for the title down the stretch.

The rest of the top ten is rounded out by Steve “gboro780” Gross (fifth), Raj “BadcardsAA” Vohra (sixth), Mickey “Mement_mori” Petersen (seventh), Adam “squee451” Sherman (eighth) and Nicolas “PKaiser” Fierro (ninth).
