Caesars Palace Reopens Its Las Vegas Strip Poker Room

The New Location Is In Its First Of Three Phases En Route To The Largest Poker Room In The Property's History

Another Las Vegas Strip poker room opened just before the start of the World Series of Poker as Caesars Palace’s room is officially open.

The property reopened its room last Friday morning in a completely new space. The room was closed in June to make way for a high-limit slot area. But Caesars, which owns the only online poker room in Nevada, announced plans in March to reopen the venue in a temporary space.

However, according to a report from Poker.org, the new area is the final home for the new room. The property has a three-phase plan to extend the room and make it larger than it was before.

The new room is located near the retail shopping area in the Appian Way corridor. Caesars officials expect to add an adjacent retail space, allowing for an additional 23 to 25 tables, making it the casino’s largest poker facility ever.

Company officials expect the entire construction project to take three months.

“It’s more or less bringing our players and guests the Caesars Palace experience and meeting those expectations,” poker room manager James Tobiasz told Poker.org. “Caesars Palace is the iconic flagship, and we’re going to carry that theme out no matter what your experience is from the pool to the steak houses, to the table games and slots. We’re going to carry that theme throughout and the poker will come in right alongside.”

The room is now offering cash games with increased limits from $100 to $500 for $1-$3 no-limit hold ’em and $500 to $2,000 for $2-$5. The rake for $2-$5 has also been reduced to 5% instead of 10%. The venue spreads $5-$10 games as well, and players earn $2 per hour in comps.

Tournament players will find four daily options: a $160 event at 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. and a $120 option at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The room’s reopening comes as Caesars Entertainment is putting a renewed focus on live poker. The company tripled its number of Las Vegas Strip poker rooms as it also reopened the Planet Hollywood poker room earlier this month.
