CoinPoker. is home to some of the best high-stakes cash game action on the planet.

On Monday, there was some huge $500-$1,000 heads-up pot-limit Omaha action between ‘Y4Cards’ and ‘DogeCoinMaximaliste,’ with the battle going the way of DogeCoinMaximaliste. They ended up finishing $176,000 in profit while Y4Cards lost about $200,000 on the day.

‘KayhanMok’ and ‘LLinusLL0ve’ have also been battling for quite some time now and took part in some $100-$200 no-limit hold’em action. It was a day where KayhanMok finished $63,000 in profit while LLinusLL0ve finished $23,000 in the red.

Let’s take a look at some of the best hands of the day.

LLinusLL0ve Gets Punished Going Wild With 5-4 Suited

Action

KayhanMok raised to $500 with ASpade Suit ADiamond Suit. LLinusLL0ve three-bet to $2,100 with 5Club Suit 4Club Suit, and KayhanMok four-bet to $5,100. LLinusLL0ve called.

The flop came 8Diamond Suit 6Spade Suit 5Diamond Suit and KayhanMok bet $2,400. LLinusLL0ve shoved for $14,900 effective and KayhanMok called.

The board ran out JSpade Suit 2Diamond Suit and KayhanMok won $40,000 with a pair of aces.

Analysis

KayhanMok has it easy with aces and put in the appropriate raise and four-bet preflop. LLinusLL0ve should be three-betting his low suited connectors at some frequency and did so with the 5-4 suited. Once he faced the small four-bet, he had no choice but to call as he only has to call $3,000 to play a $10,200 pot.

Even though LLinusLL0ve only had a 21.4% chance to win the hand, according to the Card Player Poker Odds Calculator, KayhanMok had plenty of unpaired big cards in his range to make the call profitable.

The flop actually smashed LLinusLL0ve’s range and when KayhanMok put in a small continuation bet, LLinusLL0ve jammed with a pair and a gutshot trying to use his range advantage to get KayhanMok to deny equity to his overcard hands and also get it in flipping against flush draws.

Unfortunately for LLinusLL0ve, KayhanMok had aces and ended up holding on the runout to drag a $40,000 pot.

Y4Cards Overplays His Hand Vs. DogeCoinMaximaliste

Action

Playing $500-$1,000 heads-up PLO with roughly 33 big blinds effective, Y4Cards opened 9Heart Suit 9Diamond Suit 4Spade Suit 3Spade Suit to $3,000. DogeCoinMaximaliste called with 7Diamond Suit 7Spade Suit 6Spade Suit 3Club Suit.

The flop came 8Spade Suit 7Club Suit 2Spade Suit and Y4Cards potted to $6,440. DogeCoinMaximaliste raised to $25,760. Y4Cards shoved all-in for $30,244 and DogeCoinMaximaliste called.

They ran it twice. The first board came 4Diamond Suit QSpade Suit, and DogeCoinMaximaliste won $33,524.54 with a queen-high flush.

The second board ran out JClub Suit 5Heart Suit. DogeCoinMaximaliste won $33,524 with a set of sevens.

Analysis

This hand was misplayed from the start from Y4Cards, made worse by running into the gauntlet. The two players were playing extremely short stacked, only 33 big blinds effective, so equity was going to get pushed early and often.

Y4Cards didn’t have to open-raise with his 9-9-4-3 single-suited hand, as it’s pretty weak and won’t perform that well post-flop. DogeCoinMaximaliste had a very well-connected paired hand and had an easy call out of the big blind.

On the flop, Y4Cards ended up going crazy with an overpair and a worse flush draw against the set of DogeCoinMaximaliste. After potting the flop, he put the rest of his money in against aggressive action with less than a 7% chance to win, according to the Card Player Omaha Odds Calculator.

Perhaps Y4Cards could have considered a check or, worst-case, bet-fold the flop. Against a raise after potting the flop, he’s virtually never going to be ahead equity-wise and is going to often be crushed against hands that are ahead with a better flush draw. He should be getting in with some nutted or near-nutted potential.

It was the worst-case scenario and he paid the price, with $67,000 going the other way.
