A trio of pot-limit Omaha poker tournaments with guarantees of €1 million or more wrapped up in Tallinn, Estonia last week. The three events were all part of the Diamond Poker Series PLO Grand Slam Tallinn, which ran from April 4-13 at the Chesterfield Poker Club.
The largest of the three tournaments was a €1.5 million guaranteed €10,000 buy-in affair. A total of 148 entries were made in the high-stakes event. In the end it was France’s Imad Derwiche (pictured above) that came away with the title and the top prize worth $372,207 when rendered in US dollars.
This was the fourth-largest score yet for Derwiche, who is no stranger to high-roller action. He now has more than $4.6 million in recorded cashes to his name after this latest triumph.
Plenty of notables ran deep in this event, including 2019 World Series of Poker main event champion Hossein Ensan (13th), 2024 WSOP Europe pot-limit Omaha event winner Vivian Saliba (9th), inaugural PokerGO Tour Pot-limit Omaha Series champion Lautaro Guerra (8th), and recent Triton Poker Jeju $25,000 PLO event champion Tom-Aksel Bedell (6th).
The first event of this series also sported a seven-figure guarantee (€1,000,000). Puk Nabuurs topped the field of 416 entries in the €2,200 buy-in event to earn $220,000.
The second tournament on the schedule also featured the same guarantee. It drew 202 entries at €5,200 a pop. Youness Barakat came away with the title and the top prize of $173,734. Ensan finished second for $160,600.
Bedell also ran deep in that event, placing seventh for $39,061. The Norwegian now has four final-table finishes on the year, with two titles won. In addition to his Triton victory, he also took down the PLO Grand Slam Tirana main event back in January for $455,520.
